Konami®
Use Carbon Copy Cloner http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html Norton Ghost is only available for Windows
fluffy69
why not simply restore your partition to an external usb-drive? everytime you mess up, you simply boot of your install dvd and start disc util and restore the usb-drive back to the hard-disc. another alternative is a program called SuperDuper! failurbydesign
i dont have a usb drive, but with superduper, can i access the image from my windows partition?
BJMoose
I have plenty of extra drive space so CopyCatX works perfectly for my needs on both my mac pro and my hack. If you want to stay with windows, you can use Ghost 12 right from within the windows environment to back up you mac partition. It does a very good job, but the size of the image is going to be larger than those from SuperDuper, CCC, or CopyCatX. With Ghost 12, you can also restore your mac partition from within the windows environment. It's also a fairly quick operation.

neogeo
you can create a second partition on your harddrive. make it hfs. use super duper to clone a image on to it, this will be a .dmg file. then you can boot from Jas 10.4.8 Disk anytime you want, format your mac partition and restore right from disk utility off the dvd. I have ,y 10.4.8 and 10.4.9 installs backed up this way, any time I mess up messing around, I can quickly restore my system partition this way. good luck.
