@jjduro,I only speak Mandarin Chinese, and English =/
Two of the most spoken languages in the world :)
The 10.5.2 fix actually removed battery options completely
That is odd... I'll try it myself in one or two days. I'm sorry it didn't work for you :)
yeah thats another thing... updating to 10.5.2 always creates kernel panic for me. Should I use vanilla kernel or no?

if it's during the install, you might not be removing that kext properly (forgot its name lol)

@jjduro,

I can communicate with more people than you can! :D haha jk... :P

Being Canadian, I can read some french and understand some too :P

ANYWAYS, I'll get to the point.

I tried the battery fix, and it did something weird to my bootup...

Hey guys,

little update, 10.5.2 and speed step just dont work, i had weird errors concerning missing a throttler in Library/Speedstep (i didnt even have that folder) and spedstep.app didnt load, due to not having the throttler, anyway, decided to go with standard and everything seems to be ok, apart from the Graphics update doesnt work, need NVinject to get it to work properly. and battery meter does not work

btw i speak cantonese and english =D

@python1564

and

@antaholics

The guys back in Brasil Mac say that you need to delete the Extensions cache and extension.mkext, after installing the fix. Then, reboot with -f -v options.

f41qu3, the one that developed the fix, tried to install it in a laptop and came up with the same errors. He says it all came together after deleting the cache and everyhing is working ok.

Success!! I got it to install using the iATKOS r2 disk. Sound worked right away and I was serenaded with a lovely song telling me to make music and make love or something like that while filling in my name. Now I just need to figure out how to install my 8600m gs and get my old 2200 wireless card working. I'm hopeless though I don't know how to go about doing that. Thanks for your help! I'm pretty happy.

congrats on the install.

to get ur 8600m gs to work, update to 10.5.2 using kalyway combo, sys update for leopard graphics, after thatn you need to install NVinject.kext and it will work, but for some reason boot up takes forever and a day. but it boots, trying to figure out why that is happening now.

i was so smart last night i kinda did a rm -R /System/Library/Extensions >_< so had to reinstall AGAIN (prob 5th time these 2 days)

anyway, does anyone know how to fix usb not being able to mount anymore? its weird it shows in disk utilties, but it doesnt appear on the desktop, but if i boot with USBs in, they appear on desktop?

Thanks for the reply, I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about.. but I just used the installer from here http://scottdangel.com/blog/?page_id=20

and it seemed to work out fine, and my computer boots up quite speedily.

I thought that my old 2200 wireless card would work in this computer but it's a completely different size.. I need to get the internet working or it's really not practical. Everything works very well it's all very quick, except the battery meter seems a bit strange, I'm going to try to get throttling to work. One really annoying issue though.. headphone jack doesn't work, any solution?? oh and sleep, sleep doesn't seem to work either.

hint: back up your extensions folder!! :rolleyes:

i used one of the install packages for gfx kext, and it worked flawlessly... i think it's NVInstallerV.31.pkg

I am not sure about the USB thing... have you looked in disk utility?

i fixed the usb issue by installing another kernel, and i never used the installer mentioned above, changing kernel seemed to fix the slow boot aswell.

cant seem to get the battery meter up, is it poss for anoyone to upload their ACPIplatfrom? or tell me which one they are using? I tried various and they all dont work.

Jermo you need to check what sound card you have. if it's ALC660, you can use maxoid's kexts (see link in my siggy, scroll down).

for ACPIPlatform, I just pulled mine from iATKOS r2 (I used Pacifist to open OSInstall.mpkg to find it), and it worked.

Hmm well windows doesn't seem to be of any use in figuring out what kind of sound card I have, it's just called a "High Definition Audio Device" made by microsoft.. which I find hard to believe, just a generic driver then I assume.

All that I can see in device manager are just Microsoft High Def Audio Device, some registry keys, location, stuff like that, it just keeps saying microsoft.. I am running on minimal sleep as I'm in the midst of midterms and assignments.. but that really is all I can see and my eyes are still mostly working.

oh well I have a midterm at 8am that I need to really start learning the material for, looks like this is a tomorrow project.

ok i installed os x without vanilla kernel, i installed the fix again, and even did jjduro's suggestion to remove extension caches and extensions.mkext. I rebooted with -f -v like he said, and I still get the same results. The battery meter shows accurate time, but speedstep doesnt work, and i never got speedstep gui.

i cant get the speedstep.app on i did the way the bolg said but it just didn't work do anbody know why? and i have a question are all of you using just a leopard in you computers or you hve windows or some thing else? thanks! and where can i find the newest iatkos ?thanks !
