Ok so I "got" mac os x 86 10.4.10 for AMD (yes, I have an amd cpu) and then I burnt the iso to a CD.... But, whenever I put it in my windows vista machine, it doesnt work and I have to close everything and then boot from the CD. then when i go to boot from the CD, it looks like everything is working fine, and asks me to "push any button to continue" so I push a button, and then crazy stuff happens.... It says something (i cant read it, going too fast) and then it randomly stops... what am I doing wrong?

OK. So boot Vista or whatever you have and insert the Mac OS X DVD. Now reboot your computer making sure its set to boot from CD first. The DVD will boot, and when it says "Press any key to continue installing Mac OS X", just press a key and yes, there will be a lot of "crazy" text. Wait for 5 or 10 minutes and see if you get to the friendly blue GUI installer screen.

I did all that, and I waited..... Still no "friendly GUI" Or should I wait longer? Basically its saying stuff like "corrupt file" blah blah blah.... Ok, I am VERY determined to get this working! Also, thank you for trying to help me! And... any other suggestions from other people would be nice too.

Well, i cant really make a screenshot in the install screen because... it wont let me? But basically, it says something like "***is not found" and it says it over and over and over... sometimes it will show a message, but i cant even read it because it goes by too fast.

Ok, I figured that 10.4.10 will NOT work, so im "getting" uphuck 10.4.9 1.4a. I am not sure what it will do, but hopefully i wont get errors! What kind of cd should I burn this to? (I do not have a DVD burner!) also, is there a way where i can just install it to my separate hard drive from vmware?

I mean take a picture of the screen with a camera but about Uphuck 1.4a:

It comes on a DVD sized image so you have two options:

1) Get a DVD burner (best option, DVD burners are really cheap)

2) Mount the Uphuck Image and install to the partition through VMware (slow, larger possibility for error)

Personally, I would just get a DVDRW. You can pick them up for $35CAD or less. And for the media, anything but the cheapest media should be fine. Just make sure you verify the image after burning it.

You cannot burn it to a CD because the images start at 1.4GB and go up from there... CDs hold ~700MB.

And like ~pcwiz mentioned earlier, take a photograph of the screen when the 'crazy' text stops being crazy, and stops. What did you burn the downloaded image to, if you don't have a DVD burner? If you just burned the first 700MB of data out of a 1.4GB - 4.7GB image, obviously it will not work (not sure how you would have done that, though....).

You can install the OS using VMWare to your spare HDD, and I'm pretty sure you will find guides for doing so if you do some searching on this forum and Google.

Also, my mouse is just a random USB mouse I got from target (it also has a converter for the regular mouse plug) and My keyboard is a normal keyboard that came with my old HP computer which goes in the normal keyboard slot on the back of my computer...

Your mouse and keypad are not the problem. It might be your motherboard, the type of usb that your motherboard has might not be compatible with OSX. Did you try installing the generic usb drivers or equivalent (what ever type of usb drivers your motherboard needs) under the customize setting during install?

If not, then that is your problem. Sorry to say but your going to have to reinstall.

edit: sorry didn't see that you plugged in your keyboard and mouse to the pin slot. If that's the case it is the type of motherboard your computer uses. To my knowledge, you might need to search around for a different ISO install disk that would support your motherboard.

2nd edit: On a side note, make sure your friend also burns the ISO using 1x speed. It helps making a cleaner burn which in turn give you less headache from errors running the installer. Also keep in mind like posted above DVDRW work the best. I learned that the hard way by wasting about 8 DVDRs lol.. Personally I prefer DVD-RW
