It really is up to you and what you want to get. I guess if you're going to be listening to music 99% of the time, you might as well get the nano and save your money. Plus it'll be easier to carry around and has better battery life.

If you plan on watching video often, or want to be able to browse the web, you might want to consider the touch for the bigger screen and wifi.

Thx for the responses! I currently own a Nano Red (2nd Generation) and I was originally looking for an iPod that played videos. I think I will get a Nano because it suits all of my needs (i honestly don't need wi-fi because i practically always carry around a laptop, and the screen size of the touch is not a big factor). Cost is a big factor as well as looks.

Keep the Nano for music and use the Touch for video/web. I'm planning on getting an iPhone soon but my shuffle is still the one that's going to the gym with me, less to worry about.

I bought an iPod Touch after my ancient iPod Mini finally died (and took hundreds of tracks with it) and I found that using my Nokia N95's music player all the time drained it's already underpowered battery too quickly.

Since the Touch's screen is bigger than the N95's, I'm also now using it for video, though I still use the N95 for the net (it's free on my plan) because I just find it easier to use, quicker and I hate that on-screen keyboard the Touch has.

Having used both the Touch and the new Nano Video, I'd go with the Touch hands-down. It looks awesome, your friends will think you've got an iPhone, and unless you're wearing jeans so tight that putting anything wider than 4mm into a pocket will cause your balls to be squeezed into submission, the size difference isn't that much of a factor.
