AppleIIGuy
Starting this morning i noticed the bottom 1/10 of my iphone's touch screen wasn't responding (Ie The Dock). Then my iPhone suddenly froze and I had to reset it. It started up but said my at&t sim was invalid. I checked the sim and it wasn't dirty or not seated right and was a genuine at&t iphone sim. I then took it to a at&t store (No apple store nearby) The put a new sim in but still same problem then I noticed the imei # on the back of my iphone didnt match the imei number displayed on the screen. Any Ideas on how to fix it? (I have called Apple and I will be sending it in..) Any Idea on how the IMEI Changed?
AppleIIGuy
Your service request has been completed and your IPHONE shipped on 2007-09-29. Please allow two business days for delivery. Your product shipped via FedEx Air using tracking number xxxxxxxxxx, which should be active within 24 hours. On my Repair status page Apple said they replaced it..!! MyPancakePlaces
I had this problem. You need to use 'simfree', that should reset the IMEI number. Then iTunes will complain, so you have to donwload iNdependance and click the 'activate' button. That should do it.
JedixJarf
Actually all you need to do is downgrade the baseband f/w then run anysim then virginze the baseband.
CLiDE FTW!!1
The touch screen always is an issue for the iPhone. If I could have a nickle for everytime I heard "I cant slide to unlock", I'd be loaded.
