So i was in the O2 shop today quizzing (and probably annoying) the guy about the iPhone, i asked him about PAYG on the iPhone instead of the contract, and he said that you will be able to use any old O2 PAYG sim with the iPhone, he then added "it would be as simple as buying the iPhone, then putting the PAYG sim in and activating it" which i somehow dont believe, since it needs to be activated by iTunes.

I personally find it ridiculous that they havent got a PAYG option anyway, in my opinion what they should have done is what all other shops do, have the phone for free on contract, then make it full price on PAYG. For example the iPhone costs £269 then £35 a month, they should give the handset for free and then you just pay the £35 a month, and then charge £269 for it on PAYG.

Its probably the same as it is in the US. I went through and chose the monthly plan, then I just entered all 9's as mine Social Security Number. iTunes then said I had to pick a prepaid plan, (since AT&T thought I had bad credit)

Something is probably similar to this in the UK
