Wizi
I hope this topic is on the right spot... sorry in advance if it's not the case. As I'm waiting for the final Leopard I was wondering if those of you who already have tested the beta versions and have 1 gig of RAM - was it enough or did you notice any speed difference between Leopard and Tiger? Would you recommend installing one more GB of RAM in advance? Thank you.
Envying
Holy *@#$!@! Your gig at work is sooooooooooooooooooo powerful!! For your home mb, just give it a try. Before doing that, backup your important data first!
iarora
up 1 gig is good enough for leopard
Scorpion2k7
Well I know that the specs call for a minimum of only 256MB, you would see a major difference with 512MB. So 1024MB (1GB), is plenty... I would personally would have to go with at least 1GB or more, as I do Video editting, and Music editting, so anything less than that wouldn't work for me... LOL Hope this helps you out.
rathalos
1 gb is definitely enough.. its not vista we're talking about here.. from what i tested in the beta build, seems like memory management has not yet been optimised and memory leaks occured quite frequently.. hopefully, memory management gets better in the FC build or even the final release.. Xosx86
I have 512 in my vaio notebook. 9a527( X86 ) has a lot of issues so I can't tell if it's the BETA or if I need more RAM. Think I will get another 1GB stick {only 35 bucks My girlfriend has 256 built in and we just got a 512 stick for a total of 768, on her ibook G4 1ghz. She is using 9a527 every day and she is happy with that
Dr. Heckles
It's a bit worse than Tiger as far as memory use. It seems to use about 100MB more when running nothing, and you've got Time Machine going pretty crazy once per hour. If it's almost too slow for you now, this might tip it over the edge. More would help.
Wizi
I'm pretty much sure that too much is never enough. After all I made the switch to a personal Macintosh 2 months ago, so I still have RAM night terror. Thank you!
Snerler
A mac pro at work has 8 GB. After a while of work up to 6 GB can become "inactive" and its a blue color on the memory usage pie chart. What does inactive mean?
