apowerr
The Zune was a big screw up on MS's part but... "Explosively popular iPhone and iPod Touch." I understand them saying that about the iPhone, but iPod touch? Ewww. I still don't get why the iPod Touch uses flash and not a hard drive!!! Ayanami
Flash drives won't go bad nearly as quickly as a hard drive does. There's probably data transfer pros to using flash as well. And they're smaller, and if you haven't noticed, Mr. Jobs is trying to make everything at Apple as small as he possibly can. Maybe he's secretly trying to let us know something about himself..... I have a vast media collection (I recently converted all my DVDs to mp4) and storage is a must, so I am buying the 80GB classic . apowerr
I've got an 80 gig Video if you're interested. Might be a bit cheaper.... Thanks but, the 80G classic is a lot thinner than the 80G Video and I love the new interface. So I am going to stick with a new classic I want a 160 gig. Wow. That's a lot of entertainment. U.C.
I am happy to say, I have yet to meet anyone who bought a Zune. All my friends have iPods. iPods have the cool factor. Zunes have the geek({censored}) factor. Thus iPods sell much more. EFI
I still don't get why the iPod Touch uses flash and not a hard drive!!! There are several reasons for that actually : - overall smaller form factor due to thinner HD space - faster read/write access - longer lasting/more durable - better shock-proof than a traditional spin up drive etc. Plus, SSD is really the way of the future, essentially. The only sad part is that the space is a bit limiting now, but once that clears out in (imo) 1-2 years....I'm sure we'll be seeing 200+ Gb of solid state drives on the market, most likely also in the future iPods. Unless your a hardcore music junkie, then I would assume 16Gb to be more than enough for music, and a few videos (which includes podcasts). I myself have 3,000 songs, and it barely even scratches the 7Gb limit for music on my (now obsolete by 9 days ) 5.5G 30Gb iPod. Zealot
I totally concur with EFI on this one , i think those are very good reasons btw. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62927-help-save-the-zunes/#findComment-448539 Share on other sites
