domino
Ok, I finally figured out a way to get all my USB hardware to work on 1111a (g). I think we all forgot during the shuffle so here it is. The only thing you have to do is remove the AppleFPMemDriver.kext from the Extensions directory, shut down OS X. Connect the USB kb, USB mouse, and in my case, USB Blue Tooth dongle. Start her up and it will recognize them without any problems. I know there are some of you that don't have problems with USB, but others like myself that do. Just like what was done during pre 10.4.3 was done to this version. Hope this helps some of you. Happy Holidays! Happy Holidays! Sorry, but there is no a /System/Library/Extensions/AppleFPMemDriver.kext in Mac OS X86 10.4.3 8F1099 with the Maxxuss 1.1a patched. The AppleFPMemDriver.kext has already been moved to /System/Library/Extensions.disabled. But my USB mouse can't work with my ps2 keyboard. No I'm using the ps2 mouse and ps2 keyboard. domino
Read the original post properly. We aren't talking about 1099 seed. I don't know, nor I don't care if there is a USB problem on seed 1099. USB worked perfectly for me on seed 1099. This thread was intended for 1111a users that have problems with USB. You should know by now that you can not use a USB mouse and a PS2 keyboard together. Nor can you use a PS2 mouse and a USB keyboard. This has been like this since the beginning. If you don't know read the wiki. The people here invested many hours updating it, yet you choose not to read it. Rather you post nonesense. If you refuse to use both USB mouse and keyboard, then you should not be testing Tiger. wesley
I should make note that my PPF patch for 10.4.3 8f1111 removes the said kext from the install stage so you don't have to manually do it. Gdfath3r
My USB works on NF4 with AppleFPMemDriver.kext, but only in 1.1 mode...with 10.4.1 worked flawlessly, so I hoped Im gonna find a fix for it. So, if I remove that kext will work on USB v2.0 mode?... stngray
I removed AppleFPMemDriver.kext from my extensions directory, and now I have USB. But surprisingly it also "fixed" my bluetooth on my Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop. Thanks for the tip! wiebeest
I removed AppleFPMemDriver.kext from my extensions directory, and now I have USB. But surprisingly it also "fixed" my bluetooth on my Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop. Thanks for the tip! Isn't it amazing how this whole os X for x86 scene and it's experimenting, against the intensions (?) and whishes of Steve Jobs & co sometime leads to the strangest effects. I mean, you disable a memory driver, in the hope to get usb support and gain bluetooth in addition. What in the world do memory, usb and blue tooth have in common? If you remove something related to memory, management how can the os all of a sutton discover and make operational other hardware? Wouldn't those drivers then have been there allready in the first place in order for the os the be able to work with it? I don't get it. Why would Apple do this? Same as for instance Nvidia stuff in os x86 since version 10.4.1, why would they do that? Again, amazing and good for you it worked out this way. domino
I don't think some things Apple did was intended to be universal. I'm quite sure that the file doesn't have to be removed on the Dev PC and as others already pointed out. I'm in it for the experience. I'll be damn if someone beats me out of a contract when Apple releases the PC in the market. domino
Actually I am currently using a USB mouse and PS/2 keyboard without any problems. Don't you think the reason why you have your USB and PS2 working on your PC is because of your motherboard? Like I said, some of you that are really close to the DEV PC will not have as much problems as the ones with older processors, motherboards, differnt chipsets. Those with laptops and notebooks don't have this specific problem either. Since this problem was specifically for PC's, I don't really care. Anyway, there's a new PPF that removes AppleFPMemDriver.kext, so jump on it asap.
