( ICH9 now works with Podarok's custom driver. You don't have to run in AHCI mode anymore!

Get it from here: http://my.ukrweb.info/node/25 This increased my HD write/read speed dramatically. )

Allsop, as you said, it is likely to be a bit faster than AHCI Mode, but black ports are unlikely to work.

( Isn't a floppy ok to upgrade/downgrade bios? )

manmal, we didn`t know how to downgrade P5K-BIOS for some months.

Hello Allsop,

I tried Podarok's driver without success. But I'm new to OSX86. I use uphuck's 10.4.9i r2 DVD with PascalW's 10.4.10 update. I also applied G80 NVinject Drivers for my Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB.

I have an ASUS P5K with two SATA devices in ports 1+2, 1x IDE DVD-R and 1x IDE HDD. OSX86 is on the IDE HDD. I can only see the IDE DVD and the IDE HDD. SATA Devices are invisible (in system profiler, disk utility and finder).

BIOS settings are:

SATA-Configuration: Enhanced

J-Micron ESATA/PATA: Enabled

Controller Mode: IDE

-> Nothing works, only the IDE Devices are visible

New BIOS Settings testet:

SATA-Configuration: Compatible

J-Micron ESATA/PATA: Enabled

Controller Mode: AHCI

-> The SATA Devices appear as Generic 0 devices without size and so on. I can't use them...

I followed this guide to install the kext (obviously with changing the filename). All was ok. Kext successfully loaded...

What might be wrong?

Could someone confirm that P5K (vanilla) works without AHCI mode with Podaroks driver ?

/E

- SATA-Configuration: IDE - Comparable // J-Micron ESATA/PATA: disabled

( Tiger : Yes , Leopard : No )

- SATA-Configuration: IDE - Enhanced // J-Micron ESATA/PATA: disabled

( Tiger : Yes , Leopard : Yes )

- SATA-Configuration: AHCI // J-Micron ESATA/PATA: disabled

( Tiger : No , Leopard : Yes )

Putting the AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext into (IOATAFamily.kext => Contents => "Plugins")

people

dont forget

- to fix permissions with Disk Utility after installing my patch

- to kill Extensions.mkext and cache

- reboot

Without it - nothing...

and one moment - Look at System profiler on Extensions tab and check dependencies for my kext. If U see any error - my kext is unusable

******************************************

If anyone send to me p5k(vanilla) pci id`s for SATA ports - I`ll add them to new kext

2Art?!

I think yes!

Try my ApplePIIXATA patch that has more id`s for ich9 but only 1 and 2 channels working

After that U can boot and update into any other patched drivers

Hmm ok,, But I don't really get it..

I want to install Mac os X on my SATA drive, but on you're webpage I see that this is only when you already installed Os X.. Or am I wrong?

Btw, when I view you're page i get an error, and some tekst is russian I think,,

Thanks to darwin form osx86scene, following is working too:

darwin figured out, that we can flash the newest P5KR Bios (support for new 45nm CPUs AND AHCI)

Just use "AFUDOS /N /I<biosname>"

IMPORTANT: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Thanks to darwin! It's working great for me!
