damirko
So I wanted to make a topic that would "exploit" all the nifty new stuff in leopard, so let us start: 1) New features in Dictionary Updated UI - it even has a Wikipedia as source - tried out and it works perfectly Every word in dictionary is a link leading to the explanation of that word 2) Icons representing shared Windows computers contain BSOD Blue Screen Of Death inside the screen icon in shared section in Finder sidebar - LOL 3) Middle Clicking in menus in Safari Bookmar Bar This opens the new tab - which wasn't the case in Tiger, well, not as far as I know... 4) When renaming extension is not selected When you choose to rename file, only filename without extension is selected - Linux style 5) When you type "exit" in terminal, window automatically closes, no more Cmd+Q That would be all for now. Contribute if you found something, and stop bitchin' about how "ugly" Leopard is, 'coz it's usability is growing yet again. Cheers!

dago
When you change the time zone in the Word Clock widget, the hands are nicely accelerated until they reach the new position.
SeanM
More cool things: Airport menu now separates hotspots by open, secure, etc. much nicer now. Expose hot corner can now sleep display (yay!) New print dialog Warning when opening new apps - this is actually pretty cool, it remembers the website it was downloaded from and you can visit it before opening. new crash reporter, its now broken up into tabs and it sends your exact system configuration too
alicheusz
I am wonder how much Dictionary depends on Leopard this new Wikipedia Add-on is very cool. It would be nice to run id on Tiger
damirko
Tabs in terminal are dragable, and you can even tear the tab off into a new window - just like Safari. By pressing Shift+Command+T you get the permanent tab bar.
Taylor_C
The new rounded, non-striped contextual menus are very visually pleasing. Especially with that deep blue highlight.

rollcage
I like how there is a spotlight-like search box in all the Help drop down menus.
Ranmaru
I found something handy: when you have two windows on different spaces and you click their dock icons, OS X normally sends you to the space where the application is. However, when you hold the shift key while clicking, the window comes to you instead. Oh, and TextEdit can now open Open Document files (they also work with Quick Look of course). iDarbert
Oh, and TextEdit can now open Open Document files (they also work with Quick Look of course). That's insanely great! found something handy: when you have two windows on different spaces and you click their dock icons, OS X normally sends you to the space where the application is. However, when you hold the shift key while clicking, the window comes to you instead. I can't get it to work, all it does when I hold shift is temporarly deactivate magnification on the dock. hemiola
Even impressed that Quick View will render HTML files !!! Also, try QuickView with an Excel Spreadsheet .... nifty, nifty!
Ranmaru
I can't get it to work, all it does when I hold shift is temporarly deactivate magnification on the dock. I checked it again and I guess it was just a coincidence when I saw it for the first time. What I actually did was holding the option and command keys while clicking the icon of an application, which hides all other applications. When you click another one now, it will pop up on the active space. I somehow thought that pressing shift caused the effect, but it obviously didn't. rollcage
Oh, and TextEdit can now open Open Document files (they also work with Quick Look of course). It can also open/save Office 2007 Word documents. They don't work in Quick Look though. I also noticed that Pages documents don't work either, seems odd that Apple wouldn't support their own product. It will probably work with '07 of course.
damirko
...all it does when I hold shift is temporarly deactivate magnification on the dock. And vice versa: If you have dock magnification turned off, holding shift will temporary enable it (and it's new to Leopard, as this trick doesn't work in tiger). I can't seem to get iPartition working without crashing on 10.5 so it'd be nice to know how! Oh and Firefox's font problems are doing my head in!! You don't need iPartition with Leopard's Disk Utility (spotlight for it, and you'll find it!). I tried resizing partitions and creating new one as well, and it worked good! Now, see what else (new, I think) I found: 1) Photoshop has a loading bar in dock icon I don't think that the is such a thing in Tiger, correct me if I'm wrong. 2) Now, there are also a number of new features in Leopard Installation Disc 4 to be exact (Firmware Password Utility, Terminal, Network Utility and Restore System From Backup) The most interesting feature (to me at least...) seems to be Firmware Password Utility P.S.: Sorry for the crappy camera phone images
turpentine
10.4 had the loading bar but it went away when the loading finished but 10.5 keeps it because of a bug.
