damirko Posted June 23, 2007 Share Posted June 23, 2007 So I wanted to make a topic that would "exploit" all the nifty new stuff in leopard, so let us start: 1) New features in Dictionary Updated UI - it even has a Wikipedia as source - tried out and it works perfectly Every word in dictionary is a link leading to the explanation of that word 2) Icons representing shared Windows computers contain BSOD Blue Screen Of Death inside the screen icon in shared section in Finder sidebar - LOL 3) Middle Clicking in menus in Safari Bookmar Bar This opens the new tab - which wasn't the case in Tiger, well, not as far as I know... 4) When renaming extension is not selected When you choose to rename file, only filename without extension is selected - Linux style 5) When you type "exit" in terminal, window automatically closes, no more Cmd+Q That would be all for now. Contribute if you found something, and stop bitchin' about how "ugly" Leopard is, 'coz it's usability is growing yet again. Cheers! By pressing Shift+Command+T you get the permanent tab bar. However, when you hold the shift key while clicking, the window comes to you instead. Oh, and TextEdit can now open Open Document files (they also work with Quick Look of course). I checked it again and I guess it was just a coincidence when I saw it for the first time. What I actually did was holding the option and command keys while clicking the icon of an application, which hides all other applications. When you click another one now, it will pop up on the active space. I somehow thought that pressing shift caused the effect, but it obviously didn't. It can also open/save Office 2007 Word documents. They don't work in Quick Look though. I also noticed that Pages documents don't work either, seems odd that Apple wouldn't support their own product. And vice versa: If you have dock magnification turned off, holding shift will temporary enable it (and it's new to Leopard, as this trick doesn't work in tiger). You don't need iPartition with Leopard's Disk Utility (spotlight for it, and you'll find it!). I tried resizing partitions and creating new one as well, and it worked good!
