milka
You simply patch the downloaded DVD, and you boot from that DVD. You install from there to your hard drive, and it's done. No VMWare required. Simply google maxxuss and download the patches from his site for your OS X to work. Hi to everyone, i just downloaded the OSX 10.4.3 8f1111 DVD ..havent burned it yet... Hagar
You already have the first part of the instructions in your quote from stryder. If you have important stuff in windows or linux or w.h.y. you need to make some backups for safety. Then you will need to set up a partition beforehand. if you're happy to wipe the harddrive, however, just go for it! a few pointers: ata is preferable to sata on most chipsets. ideally, put the installation on the primary master harddrive, put the dvd-drive on primary slave & disable other disks during the install. 10.4.3 has quite strict hardware requirements, it may be useful to find out if your processor has sse3, nx (a.k.a execute disable bit) & pae Intel integrated graphics work best for now, ati graphics cards a close second. (this has to do with driver maturity, not gpu power) To sum up, once you've secured your valuable data, take stryder's advice & just go for it, report back how it goes. cyrana
Seriously, google and look around, there are even some links to posts referencing things in the forums if you look. Don't put a patch up in the forums here again, though. ut2211
DVD macosx 10.4.3 8F111 patched with Maxxuss anti TPM version 8F111. Installed native. Installation went OK. System works perfectly. PPC applications (Microsoft Office 2004) work and have higher speed. Xbench 8F1099 87.99 Xbench 8F1111 62.78 the difference is mainly in memory test and quartz graphic test. Different memory management? Thanks again Maxxuss. Great work as usual. cyrana
Yes, there is a different memory management system in place with this build. macgirl
I also notice that this build is slower in VMWare. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5117-1043-8f1111-installation-where-to-start/#findComment-32628 Share on other sites
jegabla
It's probably because of SSE3toSSE2 emulation that Maxxuss has been using till now. There seems to be lots more of SSE3 calls than on previous builds, so he said he will probably take another approach avoiding emulation. This will, however, take some time and research...
