hecker
Yes. Boot in verbose mode and try to see if you can find out why it's doing that in the system msgs. hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46767-jas-1049-update/#findComment-335574 Share on other sites

trasman
well im glad I made a ghost image of my partition before trixing whith the 10.4.9 update. because neither JaS.10.4.9.combo.intel.sse3 nor the real apple uppdate worked on my computer. the machine is just rebooting in a loop, just befoure the apple logo. so it seems like a don't can use the -v to see whats wrong. chasingcharlie
Transman, what did you use to make a "ghost" of your hard drive? I've updated to 10.4.9 and I can't make an image of it ... everything I try makes the image drive unusable and I have to reformat and try again .. thanks charlie Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46767-jas-1049-update/#findComment-339037 Share on other sites
trasman
Dario: Can you explain that in a little more easy to understand for a noobe way? Chasingcharlie: I use "Norton Ghost" found on "Hiren's BootCD". Works like a charm. offall
Echo here. Trasman, I would like to know how you can use norton ghost to backup a HFS volume! I do have a Hiren boots CD, but when I boot into norton ghost, it does not recognize the HFS partition, how can you backit up with ghost? trasman
I don't know. I use hiren's 8.8 with norton ghost 11 and it gets detected automaticly. This is how my HDD loks like in ghost. Part Type Id -------------------------- 1 0c Fat32 2 af Apple HFS+ 3 0c Fat32 Yes, that is same thing as I saw, but it can not show the actual used space, I have a 50G HFS partition and only used for 12G, there in norton 11, I saw it as 50G used, I assume if you back it up this way, it will generate 50G gho file instead of 12G It that what you been through? trasman
no the ghost image became just as big as the used space on the disc. it did gave me a worning about to little free space on the disc i was about to copy the image to. make sure that you use the max compression.
