cyrana
intel D945GNT (i945 chipset)p4 2.66 EMT64 (sse3) 512MB ram GMA950 video (fully accelerated I think) bulit-in audio sigmatel 9220 (doesn't work but I'll try to fix it) using well-known-vmware-image dd'ed on 10GB built-in LAN does not work(running on 905C-TX) I had big problems working on this board, but now, success! forget about PATA/SATA!, You'll need PATA/SATA-to-usb box another thing.. You won't boot normaly - kernel panic(newest bios revision) you must put io=0xffffffff to bootloader boots aprox. 3 minutes but works beautiful when inside. I also had problem with rosetta, now(after SSE2 video patch) works. Can you confirm if you have QE or Corevideo working? cyrana
Just a bump on this. Wondering if any 945 users have had luck by exiting things to show a diferent id string for the devices... errandwolfe
Just bought a D945GNT motherboard with a Celeron 2.66 CPU. What a difference a motherboard makes! I upgraded from a A-Bit IS7-V2 with a Celeron 3.06 in it. My Xbench scores nearly doubled even though it is actually a slower CPU! I have only had two problems with this board: 1. The internal NIC didn't work. Not a big deal since I have a Netgear Gigabit card I use anyway. The really odd thing about this was I never edited the kext to get the internal NIC working, but after I installed the new Netgear card, it then also recognized the internal NIC. 2. I was not getting any sound output. I deleted the kext cache files, and rebooted. I was then getting sound, but the odd thing is, my speakers are plugged into the Line-In jack (blue). If I plug into Output (green) or Mic (pink/red) no sound. All in all though, LOVE this board. For now the onboard graphics are working great QE and CI enabled. Hopefully once 10.4.4 hits and we can all figure out the ATI issue, I will then buy myself a PCI-E card. I know most Mac people are used to this, but coming from a Windows world, thing I loved most was no need to re-install the OS. Just plugged in my hard drive I was using on the A-Bit board and I was up and running. Good luck trying something like that with Winbloat. bofors
Just to a note here to anybody looking over the first 5 posts and wondering WTF (as I was), this is an ancient thread that was just revived. Those posts were dated from 10.4.1 days and those problems are supposed to have been solved! Otherwise, Forcer told me, yesterday, the following about getting the Sigmatel 9220 (audio) working on these boards: [Just] update your bios and make sure you have onboard HDA enabled in bios. So, errandwolfe, I am wondering if you did update your BIOS or not? I also would like to know which BIOS your came with board (if you can tell) and your precise board model number because FedEX just delivered by D945GNTLKR board. forcer
btw.. errandwolfe Without updating your bios, You'll get issues in windows for example when copying from (P)ATA/USB to SATA.. default bios has lots of bugs. Another one.. when you update to new bios, it defaultly disables serial ports, so make sure that you'll enable it when needed.
