o_OR4N^_^
Hey all ive been searching google and basically everywhere else for a decent osx music player and i simply cannot find one. im new to os x, but have been using foobar 2000 on windows for a long time, and i really like the way this application uses a seperate playlist system as opposed to a central library system Every application ive tried uses a central library system, which is all well and good if one is running 3000 or so tracks, but i already have a GIGANTIC collection of presorted music, which i want to sort by the folders that they are already organised in Can itunes handle playlists without bogging down the central library? i have tried this and failed many times If not is there anyone out there with similar issues to me using a different player Ive tried Play and Cog... they both crashed or sucked... Thanks heaps R4N Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45144-media-players/ Share on other sites

A Nonny Moose
You could be using smart playlists instead of regular ones, which will indeedy do bog down the system. Make sure you're using regular playlists. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45144-media-players/#findComment-323421 Share on other sites

bushmills
I'm also looking vor something like foobar, because iTunes is not really comfortabel to handle big archives. Also i dont like that the "coverart-feature" is bundled on the iTunes-Store, this is not user-friendly .. so if someone have a tip, write it here. atm i'm testing songbird 0.25, but its more like a "free-itunes" .. not something improved and created on own ideas. o_OR4N^_^
(Disclaimer) They may not work. They may not even install. They may make your monitor explode in a shower of glass. EVEN LCDs! They may make your children grow horns, and cause the people in your neighborhood to explode spontaneously while doing the Macarena. They will rip out your eyeballs, and eat your soul with a really dull spoon, laughing and cackling while forcing Cheerios up your nose. They will make your intestines explode in a rain of confetti, while evil clowns bite your feet. gotta love that (quote from the mac KDE wiki ) Edited March 16, 2007 by o_OR4N^_^ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45144-media-players/#findComment-325089 Share on other sites
