This has nothing to do with computers but a simple project is to test the pH level of various water sources. It was neat seeing how neearby roads and such could affect the contamination. I also did a long long report on bacteria/germs which was really neat. I went around testing the amount of germs on various spots.

i like all of ur ideas, i'll just have to choose one that's the easiest and most creative

a Hackintosh !!!!! Show off your laptop/desktop running OSX.

do u know how to hack a version of the OS? because using someone else's product is cheating

how bout you say this:

"Um, this is my illegal hacked version of mac osx. it runs on my _______________ perfectly. A guy named JaS was the one who actually hack the mac os, but i had to do a lot of editing of kexts, plst etc. Um, the reason it works, is becuase the os has been emulated to run on bios, and not efi, which is what apple uses." then talk about what efi and bios are for another 5 mins, and will work like a charm :P

Have you considered something as simple as dismantling/building a PC with a full explanation of how all the parts work toghether, with explanations of buses, frequencies, etc?..

I used to do technophobia workshops & this was alway popular.. ripping a machine apart, understanding what does what & what goes where, then putting it all together & showing that it works once more..

I got to 2nd place at state with this one:

That was so much fun. Check the link at the bottom for the demonstration unit. That's what we showed everyone with. This is lots of work though. I'm just putting it here to brag.

To put it simply, you pass high voltage to the top wire, ground the bottom foil, and the particles that come off of the top wire ionize the air around them and thrust it downward on their way to the foil. This is levitation at its finest. Floating with NO MECHANICAL PARTS.

that is a good idea. maybe just getting the parts and asembaling it in front of them

It might be to late for you to get new ideas. I think that something along the lines of "The art of programing" could be an intresting project. and not ony talk about programing in general but explain that it does do the comand and how. explain the compiler and how it functions. I think there is a lot of content and then you could make up a short fun program using all the elements you showed them and run it in front of them.

Not sure if it is something that intrests you but I would certainly enjoy it.

I'm going to be a physics some day, so you'd better make a generator using some magnetic rings and a metalic centre inside, then connect it to the "e-chain", then rotate the rings with magnets, so you'll ged a Mechanic power to Electric power generator, I know you didn't understand anything that I wrote up here, because I'm used to think about physics in Russian. But I made a scheme for you right now, maybe it'll tell you some more info, it's attached!!!
