I installed Apache 2.2.4 under Windows Vista in order to keep a placeholder page up for my Web site while Mac OS X isn't running.

When the installation got close to being done, it installed and started the Apache service. I then received an "Error" dialog box saying "The operation completed successfully."

Say what? :(

This same "error" dialog also shows up every time I boot Windows. It's more of a nagging annoyance than anything, since I just click OK and it disappears until I reboot. The Apache server itself works fine.

What would be causing this "error" to appear? I assume it's trying to tell me that the service was successfully started, but that they somehow coded it to appear as an error.

Those error usually show when something's not compatible, I'd just deal with it until an update is available.

If something's incompatible, why does the server work impeccably? It could just be a stupid glitch in the Apache code.

I don't really care that much; it just costs me a second and a half to mouse up and hit OK. Figured I'd share another of the stupid things Windows does.

I made these awhile back. Maybe I should update them for Vista -_-

This also reminds me that I should actually make a blog I keep updating. I mean, people actually commented on my {censored} for once!
