scottysmo88
computer specs ASUS Z96Js notebook processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T2600 @ 2.16ghz 1GB RAM video: ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 hard disk: 80GB samsung SATA I made a second 10GB partition and installed from the JaS 10.4.8 DVD. Windows XP is on the other partition. Installation went smoothly and I rebooted. I saw the gray apple logo but then a text box appeared that said in several languages: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the restart button." I don't believe I have a restart button but I did hold the power button. The computer just shut off. When I turned it on again I still got the same message. Artistan
Kernel Panic. Try rebooting with verbose mode. Push F8 right before the gray apple logo screen comes up, and enter "-v" without the quotes. This will boot the system in verbose mode showing all what is happening behind that gray apple logo screen. Post the error back here and then I or some one might be able to help you. kamig
I think we have the same problem... I used the Jas 10.4.8 DVD and installed all the patch for Intel and GMA950... perhaps are the audio patch that is present on the DVD (Azalia, Sigmatel... I don't remember if I've both installed ). codestain
I'm talking about the "Mac OS X 10.4.8 - JaS AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3" version. The other jas 10.4.8 didn't work for me.. I installed all the drivers for printers etc.. the Jas 10.4.8 for intel (I have core 2 duo).. and that's it. My ATI card did not match with any of the patches so I selected NONE. If your video card matches with some patch try it ,but don't select patches that aren't exactly the same with your hardware. Try it and see what happens Well, I don't have audio now. My soundcard is RealTek and from their site I can't find a driver..
