Mchouin, great idea. I put together one WAY back on 10.4.4 but it is extremely dated. An up to date installation guide for the x200 is a fantastic idea. If you need any help putting it together just PM me. I think at the top in big bold letters you need to stress though that QE/CI is nowhere near functional with the x200. TRUST ME, it will cut down on a LOT of needless questions in the forum.

Moby....Why on earth would you ask a person who clearly states the install guide is for the x200 if it will work on the x300. That is like asking if the same instruction for getting a Radeon 9550 working will work for an x1600. They are two separate systems and while their may be some similarities the same guide will not work for an x200 as an x300. Not to mention there are at least 10-15 different tutorials on this site already on how to get the x300 to work. I would suggest taking a look in the Genius Bar.

My god - I have been trying for AGES to get a working install on my x200 chipset. I would be ETERNALLY grateful beyond belief if you could put together a working guide.

Thank you so much in advance.

Now, back to trying to get a cd to boot well....

Slight delay: i was going to use Jas 10.4.6 as the basis for my tutorial, but after some thinking, i decided that this version is sort of old so i am currently downloading 10.4.8 final from tubgirl. sorry for the delay for those who were hoping to see this tutorial sooner, but i should have it up this week. keep checking back!

According to errandwolfe, the version that I am now downloading (Jas 10.4.8 with v1p and Deviant Disk Utility Patches attached) is the best for those with the x200 chipset. The only drawback is that it's going to take more than a few days to complete which will delay the tutorial even more...

The last thing I heard was that Mchouin was still trying to download the JaS 10.4.8 image, but it was going very slowly. People are not seeding this anywhere near the levels of when it was first released.

Yeah, i have gotten those errors with my computer. I found that those can be fixed by deleting the extensions.mkext and extensions.kextcache every time you boot up. If you forget to do that, try booting with -f. Not only are the ACPI errors a problem with the x200 chipset but sound and usb have been a problem in the past. According to errandwolfe, the version I am downloading now works best with the x200 and has the most working "out of the box". I am currently at 93% and I plan on starting the guide on wedsnesday night since I have a number of exams on tuesday and wedsnesday.

What version are you using? I am using JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.

I also have Mac.OS.X.Tiger.10.4.6.X86-HOTiSO and Mac-OS-X-10.4.7-AMD.Intel-(JaS)-ISO-Repack which is the only one that booted up in Vmware.
