  1. Hi, I've got 10.4.8 running on my comp perfectly. Not a single problem but some pieces of software are requiring me to have 10.4.10. So is there a way to upgrade to 10.4.10 easily, without having to reinstall the whole OS? It took me AGES to get to the stage I'm at now, and I simply don't want to go through it again. Thanks.
  2. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

Hi, I've installed ALC882 Sound Fix v0.4b, my line in works, and normal output works. I know the line in works as I can see the input level jump when it should but it's not playing back what's being inputed. Is there any way I can set line in to playback? Thanks
  3. Ye, i think that's the one to go for. Out of interest, how do the drivers work? I don't recall apple ever making nvidia drivers, so are they written from scratch? And will opengl work?
  4. Hi, I might be looking to update my graphics card. If I were to, i'd have a hundred pounds to spend and have been looking at the 7900 GS: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....&subcat=358 Any Ideas on a better card to go for, I'd need it to be good for gaming and be good with os x. Thanks.
  5. The Asus P5LD2-VM How-To Guide

I've managed to get hold of one from misco.co.uk However, i need a new DVD drive and am wondering if I will run into problems if I order a sata dvd drive with this motherboard. Does anyone know of any problems with using a sata dvd drive? Thanks (again)
  6. The Asus P5LD2-VM How-To Guide

Does anyone know where to buy a P5LD2-VM motherboard in the UK? Where I was going to buy from is now out of stock, and seeing as the motherboard is discontinued, I don't think they'll be getting more stock in.
  7. The Asus P5LD2-VM How-To Guide

So it doesn't matter at all that it is the DH version?
  8. The Asus P5LD2-VM How-To Guide

Hi, Is the P5LD2-VM motherboard you are talking about the same one that is here: http://misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTool...884&CatId=0 Sorry for asking such a stupid question! Thanks
  9. OSX86 Compatible Motherboard

The P5W-DH is £136.79, which is out of my budget. The ASUS P5LD2-VM SE is supposedly also easy to get working but is only about £60. Unfortunately I can't find anywhere to purchase it from in the UK, so I guess finding that is my current project.
  10. Hi, I'm looking to buy some osx86 compatible components. Right now, I'm looking for a good, cheap compatible motherboard. So far, I've been looking at the Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3P: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....d=5&subcat= Whilst it seems compatible, it seems you have to jump through hoops somewhat to get it installed and working: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=28439&st=0 I'm sure this question comes around a lot, and yes I've looked at the wiki, but I still can't find a good motherboard so I thought I would come here for advice. I live in the UK, so unfortunately for me Newegg is not an option. Thanks for any help, it is greatly appreciated.
  11. Coming Soon: Install Guide for x200 users

It's a very, very broad error. It probably comes up on the forums at least once per day. I doubt there's a common link between us that's causing the error. Still, gotta start somewhere. I'm on a non mobile X200 chipset - is anybody else here who is experiencing the error on a mobile chipset? (i.e. in a laptop) Also, am I right in saying that I'm the only one who can boot succsesfully using the genericPcAta driver? It's only when I switch to scousi's or zappadoc's driver (to get UDMA working) when I experience the error.
  12. Coming Soon: Install Guide for x200 users

Add me to the "Waiting for root device" list. It just doesn't wanna work.
  13. Coming Soon: Install Guide for x200 users

I should be finished by Saturday. I've got a tiny upload but I'll try my best.
  14. Coming Soon: Install Guide for x200 users

I'm downloading too, which is bad as their are already 11 leechers. Anyway, I'm not on a X200M chip, i'm on a plain old X200 so I guess I'll just have to hope this works.

Hmmm, RobbieS, that's the same error I get on boot: "still waiting for root device". What's your hard drive setup?
