Stander
Hi guys, I'm seriously thinking about buying this board "Gigabyte 965P-DQ6" for my next MAC together with core 2 duo E6600. I will need everything to work on this board, SATA, USB, Firewire, LAN, audio... is that possible ? I'm also planning to fit Geforce 7900 GT 256MB PCIe there. nargot
everything works on the board including audio in/out etc the graphics card will probably work as long as the brand works with other boards Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41515-ga-965p-dq6/page/2/#findComment-373856 Share on other sites
EtherealRemnant
Glad to hear that people got this working in the end. However, I'm much more satisfied with the Bad Axe 2 than I was with that board. For one, it doesn't have the power bug... where sometimes, you'll turn it on, it will power up, then power down, then power back up again. VERY bad for your power supply. And I got the same overclock on my Bad Axe I did with the DQ6... just took some tweaking. But the Bad Axe works out of the box other than audio... more than I can say for the DQ6. Stellair
I'm thinking of getting this board. Heard a lot good on this. But I saw that there was a revision 3.3 for that board. I got very positive feedback for the revision 1.0 but don't know how the 3.3 reacts. Anybody bought the 3.3 version? mrVuHoa
I have just downloaded Mac OS ver uphuck 10.4.9 Install DVD v1.4i. How to install MacOS in my PC. This ver isnot same as 10.4.8 i had alot of trouble installing on this board however, after fixing the bios up it works a treat.i have this board fully functional. used the JAS 10.4.8v1 final dvd.i setup on SATA drives. installed on an ide (master) pioneer dvd-rw drive. Yes you can install with an ide drive on the ide port. plug your drives into the ich8 ports (orange) set your bios enter intergrated peripherals switch raid/achi mode to "AHCI" enable all the next choices until legacy usb support. enable onboard sata switch sata/ide control to "IDE" .............. --> not work for me. I am using GA-965P-DQ6 rev 3.3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41515-ga-965p-dq6/page/2/#findComment-439682 Share on other sites

aqua-mac
You might as well get this. It now has full support with audio and networking working. OK ICH9 is no faster than ICH8 in OSX at the moment, but this board has great cooling for the chip sets. I have both boards so have done direct comparisons.
