Alright... I want to know who has gotten this board working and how they did it.

I tried the JaS 10.4.8 AMD Intel v1p-patched ISO and it detects the DVD drive just fine...... but doesn't find anything for the hard drives, whether they're on the ICH8 SATA ports or the JMB SATA ports... Help?

i had alot of trouble installing on this board however, after fixing the bios up it works a treat.

i have this board fully functional. used the JAS 10.4.8v1 final dvd.i setup on SATA drives. installed on an ide (master) pioneer dvd-rw drive. Yes you can install with an ide drive on the ide port.

plug your drives into the ich8 ports (orange)

set your bios

enter intergrated peripherals

switch raid/achi mode to "AHCI"

enable all the next choices until legacy usb support.

enable onboard sata

switch sata/ide control to "IDE"

pop in the install disc, format your drive and install intel drivers and titan/natit if you want (i find it easier to install them later)

lan, firewire, usb, cpu, fsb etc will all be working. sound will need to be patched with the ALC audio package (install the 6 channel not digital package) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=36520

The computer is currently stable after overclocking a E6300 cpu

I also got this board working (GA-965P-DQ6). It is a bit fiddly to start with but once you have sussed it out, everything can be made to work. I used the Jas 10.4.8 with Semthex reseed. Don't install the "USB fix" otherwise USB will not work when you boot.

I've just succesfully installed 10.4.8 on my pc, everything works fine (audio, usb, firewire, ide dvdrw drive). I installed OSX on an 160 GB ide drive, so a SATA drive isn't really needed to run OSX.

My PC:

Gigabyte GA965P-DQ6

Core 2 Duo E6600

2x 512 MB DDR 2

2x 250 GB Raid (striped) on intel controller with Windows XP installed on it

1x 160 GB Ide with OSX installed on it

Nvidia 7600GT videocard

Hi all... i got some problemi with a native installation on this motherboard =[

I got a 6600 and a PATA Pioneer 112D in master mode.

The bios settings is like the nargot post.

When the installation GUI is started, it give me a error from the Installation Log Application

I used JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.v1p.and.Deviant.patch.iso

Thanks for the attention

The only way I managed to get my 965P-DQ6 to install was by getting a SATA TO IDE CONVERTER, This one:

Put it on your DVD drive and connect the drive to the highest orange slot (nearest the processor) Connect your HDD to the plug directly below.

Set the bios to have all sata enabled as AHCI as described above and you will be able to install. Strange thing, although nothing is connected to the purple ports, my computer will not boot from the DVD drive without the jmicron purple ports being enabled as AHCI.

I have them turned off in the bios now that the system is installed as it makes boot up quicker.

If you do as I have explained above, it will work. I have Bios 965PDQ6.F8 as for some reason 965PDQ6.F9 stops the PCIe x1 slots working in OS X. Anyone else have this problem?

can i use usb dvd rom too ?

yes, make sure usb legacy boot is enabled in bios

Yea, i just installed osx. ( Osx Installtion DVD was wrong then it didn'w work ).

But... the integrated ethernet card dont work. Why ?

some dvds do not have the correct ethernet drivers

you need to edit the marvel yukon .kext, there is a guide somewhere here. search the DS3 topics and it will be in the first few pages. read your manual and it will tell u the exact chipset used on your board. as far as i remember you have to change two characters in the .kext and it works at full gigabit speed. my notes are not with at the moment so i cannot tell u the exact details.
