I have AMD X2 4200 dual core proc. and Asus M2n32 mobo... new 10.4.8 JAS work's but it sems only with one core here.... can somebody help me wit this problem =)? how to enable second one...? any sugestions? regards ~Nomaj! Chief9999 Posted June 16, 2007 Share Posted June 16, 2007 Hi I have a a8n-sli deluxe asus mother board used the jas install dvd not sure if it was the latest one 10.4.8 intel amd sse2 and 3 I believe I have everything working except it says my athlon 3800+ has only one core and I can't seem to figure out waht is going wrong did your temnial code and it shows one core How do I enable the second core? But if I go into the Activity Monitor both can be seen, which might be the case for you. So look at activity monitor, because System Profiler will only show one core. Chief9999 Posted June 20, 2007 Share Posted June 20, 2007 ok Have tried a few things including the activity monitor I still only see one cpu I have licked every other problem but this one so I'm going to post my set up once again in hope someone will tell me the answer. I have a asus a8n-sli deluxe mother board. a amd 3800+ x2 chip (only seeing one core. It is definately a bios problem. do you have the manual that came with the mobo? BTW I have a Asus a8n-sli deluxe mobo and a amd 3800+ chip. BTW the manual i not for anone who can think or has been around computers for awhile ((sigh)) I have enter the cmos bios and have tried various settings I belive it is the acpi settings enabled if I disable they system hangs waiting for root device just confused in northwest florida.... Updating the Kernel wouldn't help, he said Vista only sees one core also. It is definately a bios problem. do you have the manual that came with the mobo? N!CK Posted June 22, 2007 Share Posted June 22, 2007 well, i just checked my bios too see what setting i have for the 64 x2 chip (i have the 3600+) no settings for the cores that i saw. i dont really know my way around your nVidia chipped boards seeing as how im a AMD ATI. but ill keep looking for a solution. northwest florida huh? panhandle or a little furthur south? Like I said I'm not much of a pee cee'r apparently I should have looked at the code names of amd products a bit more closer. There is a core solo amd 3800+ chip called venice ( what I have) and a core duo chip called toledeo amd 3800+ x2. Thanks for all the advice Now I get to decide whether I keep what I have or go to new egg and get the one I wanted. I guess I can enjoy what I have first. Hey does anyone know why joost does not work on this board?? hehe Port st. joe, florida on the panhandle if I go half mile further south I am in the gulf keeping a weather eye on the gulf Man this is actually a relief I was beginning to think I screwed something up from the get go...
