Hi guys,

I just got 10.4.7 working with sound, QE/CI, WIFI working great last night. I have the new JAS 10.4.8 release and was wondering whether it's worth upgrading. Are there significant enhancements to worth reinstalling all over again? BTW, my machine is a Dell I9200, Pentium M 2Ghz (SSE2 only), Atheros a/b/g, 1900x1200 resolution, 1.5Gb RAM. Thanks.

The only reason i updated was the fact that new software (like Photoshop CS3) require 10.4.8 or higher.

Personally i think that if your 10.4.7 system runs fine and stable, you should leave it as is. Why change

something which is good already ?

But that's just my personal opinion.

Grtz :)

Thanks for all the comments so far. I'm backing up up the 10.4.7 partition to another HDD and will try the 10.4.8 and see if it will work. The strange thing is that when 10.4.7 booted, the sound came on and I was floored! I tried 10.4.8 before and no sound.

I upgraded and don't see any difference between t 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 with the new kernel. el. As I have a notebook it is quite anoying that the ACPICPUThrottle.kext doesn't work at the moment and t so the fan is spinning like hell..

If everything works just as you want it to then don't mess with your system and just enjoy!!!! :-)
