I have the new JAS 10.4.8 release and was wondering whether it's worth upgrading. Are there significant enhancements to worth reinstalling all over again? BTW, my machine is a Dell I9200, Pentium M 2Ghz (SSE2 only), Atheros a/b/g, 1900x1200 resolution, 1.5Gb RAM. Thanks. tiqo Posted January 12, 2007 Share Posted January 12, 2007 The only reason i updated was the fact that new software (like Photoshop CS3) require 10.4.8 or higher. Personally i think that if your 10.4.7 system runs fine and stable, you should leave it as is. Why change something which is good already ? But that's just my personal opinion. I'm backing up up the 10.4.7 partition to another HDD and will try the 10.4.8 and see if it will work. The strange thing is that when 10.4.7 booted, the sound came on and I was floored! ufulu Posted January 12, 2007 Share Posted January 12, 2007 I upgraded and don't see any difference between t 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 with the new kernel. el. As I have a notebook it is quite anoying that the ACPICPUThrottle.kext doesn't work at the moment and t so the fan is spinning like hell.. I wonder if you could just grab the 10.4.7 copy and use it in 10.4.8?
