Ok, I have a DVD burner similar to this model: Click Me

It's older, doesn't burn DVD's at 18x, but it dual layered, and everything.

Problem is, my main DVD-ROM drive is detected and working, but not my second DVD drive. How can I get it to work? I have it plugged in so it *should* be detected.

I'm wondering if it had anything to do with me installing via VMware, where I only gave it one DVD-ROM drive to use...?

Any idea's on how to correct this? I have everything working, minus this, my logitech camera, and my dual screen setup (nVidia). I'd like to at least have this working, though.

Yeah true, Im pretty excited about this Hackintosh of mine, it's working great. I found drivers for my Logitech camera even! The only things that dont work are my DVD burner and my dual screen setup, and I cant seem to figure out why the above scenario is happening.

I reversed the drive order so that the burner is Master and the regular reader is Slave. The system now properly detects both drives.

Does OS X require some specific order of the drives if one is a reader and the other is a writer?

Not really... but since real Mac:s only have one optical device per default it's hard to tell if that is the case ;)
