jkim74
There are 2 recent 10.4.8 installer releases: - Tubgirl's OSX 1048 AMD FINAL - JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Int el.SSE2.SSE3 For an AMD SSE3 install, how are these 2 installers different? In your opinion, which is "better"? Also, do they both use SEMTHEX's kernel? If so, can both use SEMTHEX's auto kernel updater? thanx. 3on
I installed both (jas DVD work only when patched) on my amd SSE2 and I don't see any differences. Both system crash , few minutes after start up. I think the crash comes from the kernel... l3opard
I installed Tubgirl...(I don't think it was even the Final version). Anyways, it is working fine..haven't seen any crashes except that the nice login window doesn't appear or the window that says 'Starting Mac OSX '. Atleast that's what it say when I start Jas 10.4.7 on my dell laptop (which I must say has been working great!). Anyways, my AMD cpu is obviously SSE2 and SSE3 (Athlon 64) . From what I read JaS 10.4.8 amd is not working out good for a lot of people so I am going to wait till I am pretty sure about it..to install it on my AMD pc. If someone can help me with the login window thing please write...thanks! gotoh
Nforce 430 is your problem. remove natit/titan and nvdaresman kext or use a real graphics card... EDIT NF430 is not exactly the problem, it is onboard GF6150 which causes the issue with natit/titan extension. A real GeForce 6/7 in your PCIe slot would work Edited January 10, 2007 by gotoh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38051-tubgirl-vs-new-jas-1048-installer-releases/#findComment-271822 Share on other sites

Is it to do with the other ntfs partitian i have on my disk or the JAS 10.4.8? My config JAS 10.4.8 AMD 4000+ hard disk 40gig : ULTRA/ATA 133, onboard Nvidia geforce 6100 (not working) disabled Nvidia Geforce 7300GT 512MB (with moded ROM) working with Titan Nforce 405 Chipset Realtek ALC 662 (working with codec dump and AppleHDA.kext patch) Will Tubgirl fix the diskarb problem? vele
It hasn't for me on nforce4 board. So you think the board is what's causing the problem? Ianxxx
I think it has something to do with the sata drivers, but as the only bad thing seems to be a couple of seconds added to boot time I think I can live with it, I have had the same thing on every version of OS X I've tried. nei-k
I have tried both Jas 10.4.8 and Tub 10.4.10 on my Dell Inspiron 1501. The best one is Tub version, it's much stable, no crashes, every application I've installed worked. From Jas release I only cheeped the for network kext. Intall Tub release, it's working fine.
