soundboy
Update>>>>>>>>>>>> So it's fixed! New install, new partition... (hey, 8.6 G is all you need for a completely virgin install and it's always good to have another way to boot your OS86er) Same Jas dvd... chose Mikfi, and NO other options. Then used http://www.necnet.de/krass.man/Installers/...0Installer.html rebooted and walla... works great. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> So far this was NOT the easiest install, however I’ve overcome the earlier problems (bad dvd firmwares, etc ) and now am at a wall. Location: Fresh install Jas 10.4.8 semthex kernel. Hey things are somewhat working…the usb keys and mouse… harddisk, ical all work. But of course the video needs fixing and I bought a card that is very compatible… 6200TC. Apply natit.kext according to bofors instructions and reboot…. OMFG…. Res changes 1400 x 1159 looks incredible… Open GL, WOW. Smooth and fresh! Quicktime is playing fast but looks great! One thing scared me a little bit… the screen blanked out before the desktop appeared but it came back up. So I reboot, well this time it didn’t come back up… no desktop at all, just like the computer is off... Well the chatty console says all nice things natit about my vidcard and correctly displays the 6200TC right before it says starting login window. So geniuseses, please step right up! insanelyMac-one Kenobi you’re my only hope. MB ASUS P5LD2 R2.0 945P 775 - OEM (Qty=1, Price=$52.99) This is an ATX board with no onboard GFX. jrrjrr
With Natit or Titan, I get clean boots a bunch of times in a row, and then a set of 3 or 4 boot attempts that end in a blank screen. Then it will go back to booting to a normal screen for the next bunch of boots, and back and forth. There is some sort of initialization thing going on the with video card or display that is very timing dependent, I think, and it doesn't consistently hit it right. It is always finishing booting, but not always initializing the video correctly. So I've learned to just be patient for now and reboot it a few times when it does the blank screen thing. realfolkblues
are you useing the 8.8.1 kernel? titian and Natit wont work without it. Also for a beginner it would be easyer to use a dvd that has all the stuff prepacked on it. I would suggest downloading the new JaS dvd. It's got everything you need to get your 6200 going, and it's got the newest updates Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37897-mo-money-mo-problems%E2%80%A6natit-oh-so-close/#findComment-270089 Share on other sites
soundboy
jrr... and all... very nice nicknames... This is a fresh virgin install of JaS.10.4.8.SSE3.Intel.Only.iso dled 4 days ago from a typical green evil. The kernel is the Semthex 8.8.1 which is installed as an option on that dvd. Natit Dual v0.02 was installed by hand as per Bofors instructions. I will try booting many, many times. Removing Natit from the console gave me back video, reinstalling gives me the black screen. Oh, oh, oh... how sweet it was to see that Open GL and high refresh rate! PsychoSync
When your screen goes black after starting login window, maybe everything is booting normally but something went wrong in your resolution settings. This happenned to me before, my monitor couldn'nt display at a certain refresh rate so the screen went black at every boot. If that is whats happening to you, try to blindly change display settings. Bring your mouse cursor to the most upper-left position, click one time, then on your keyboard : down 4 times, then enter, type : d i s p l, down once, then enter. That should bring you to the displays settings panel. Now press TAB once and use your up and down arrows to change resolutions. You should press UP to lower the resolution until something shows up. good luck! soundboy
Psychosync... The video card isn't sending any signal after login starts... my mitsu. CRT tells info about the signal and it says... no sync signals. It also syncs a lot of stuff. I'm really trying to get Natit dual to work because I have another display for this system.
