I installed the latest JaS AMD&Intel SSE2/3 from the Demon, ran into some problems regarding Airport kexts (did a Chown/Chmod and it worked).

Everything is working fine with Callisto and AGPGart installed.

Only problem is that my Dock doesn't magnify anymore!? I tried enabling disabling magnification in dock preferences but it still doesn't work. The dock apparently can magnify though, its not broken cause whe i drag something on it, it magnifies. If i click an icon in the dock, it magnifies and get stuck magnified until i click somewhere else.

Another thing, every app i open doesn't open on top but behind. ex: If i'm in Safari and i open iTunes, Safari will still be on top and iTunes behind Safari's window.

One last thing... Applications menus don't work like they should. ex: Lets say i click on the Apple menu and i put the mouse cursor on top of About this Mac or any other option, the blue bar behind text doesn't appear, and options like "Recent items" doesn't expand. That is really annoying! When OSX starts, my apple menu opens automatically and the interface seems to be working right meaning blue bars appear and menus expand, but as soon as i close the menu, the problem starts.

What's happening?!

Could that be kernel related? I'm using the SSE2 kernel.

This is my system:

AMD Athlon64 3000+ 2Ghz

Asus K8N mobo nForce3 250

ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128m (QE&CI working with AGPGart & Callisto)

Thanks

dont know callisto only that there can be some tearing here and there.

if you know which kext you can dlete them or maybe better reinstall this time without agpgart / calisto

then if everything works try to add 1 thing see how that works and then the next.

*FIXED* That's strange, it didn't have anything to do with drivers.

The way the interface was acting it looked like the mouse cursor position was not detected, like when it went on top of the dock and it didn't magnify.

Anyway, what i did to fix it? Simple, i unplugged my mouse and keyboard (wireless combo), plugged another USB mouse and everything was back to normal !!! Then i plugged back my keyb&mouse and everything's fine!

oh man PsychoSync, thanks for posting this fix. i had already spent a couple hours trying to figure this out and you probably saved me days.

for anyone else having this issue, after reading PsychoSync's fix above, all i did was physically unplug my logitech wireless mouse dongle and then plug it right back in. no re-boot, no nothing else. and everything was suddenly working perfectly and stayed working perfectly from that point on (including from one reboot to the next).

hooray!

This worked for me too! Made me quite happy. The other problem i had also was the screensaver would not shutoff when I moved the mouse.. I had to click it.

I have a laptop and I use a logitech usb wireless mouse. All I did was unplug the receiver and plug it back in and whammy everything worked :)

Thanks very much for having and solving this problem, PsychoSync!

It was driving me nuts on two different systems! It happened after installing a kernel update on one and a file sharing patch on another.

Both have LOGITECH wireless mice and I would never have suspected this!

i have the same problem. but this (plugging-unplugging) didn't work for me. i also have a logitech mouse. my spacebar freezes up at times to. it's weird everything was sailing along fine then one day out of the blue it happened and it will work after i boot it up but as soon as i click anything the problem re-appears...

*edit*

ok, i unplugged the power from the back for 5 minutes and now it works; except for the f12 key but i can live with that.
