Seriously, if the sun's rays reach Earth (and other planets), creating daytime light on parts of our planet, then shouldn't all of space between here and the Sun (and beyond) be "light" rather than dark? Why is it only light within the atmosphere of planets--but not between the planets themselves. I've never really had the time to look into it. And I'm sure an astrophysicist would find this question extremely stupid, but I've always wondered about the answer... Since there's infinitely less air in space, the light rays have nothing to refract through.
