danyl
I tried this with my integrated AGP graphics card ("NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X", device ID: 0x0281) and it sort-of-works. With the AGP memory size set at 64Mb or higher, QE is enabled but not CI; that is, it says so in the System Profiler, and the Flurry screensaver runs at the speed its supposed to. However, there are wierd graphical artifacts all over the place, and the machine hangs within a few minutes. So yeah. It sort-of-works. For the sake of usability, I'm leaving it turned off, but if someone's got advice on how to fix the crashing issue, I'd be EXTREMELY grateful. Edit (4/24/07): Got QE working, thanks to Natit. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. This card's too old for CI. See this thread for details if you're curious.
Szak1
Doesn't work... Bootup process hangs after loginwindow.app starts and forcedth initialises.. By the way, do I do things well? By "adding dev ID" I added my dev. id (0x00C1110DE) BEFORE all the others (right after the <string> tag), separating them with a space.. I have an Inno3D PCI-Express Gefroce6800 128MB.. Can't get it working, tried lot of things PS Now I have a system which hangs.. How do I restore it (ie remove NV40 drivers or stuff like that?) I wouldn't like to reinstall
Guest Ramm
Just use Natit.
jan_187
I installed using JaS.Mac.OS.X.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.PPF.1.Defiant.diskutil.biker880.ich7-R.patch.Integrated.iso I enabled the Nvidia Natit tickbox in the install. I have a SSE3 cpu, 512MB RAM and a fx5200. When booting, it comes to blue screen and then does nothing. When I use -x, I get into OSX, can set resolution just fine, but no QE/CI supported. Would the tip in the first post fix stuff for me? The last message I see in /var/log/system.log when not doing -x is that it's trying to start memberd. If I use -x it does that too, but continues. Guest Ramm
QE/CI is never supported in Safe Mode.
jan_187
Sorry, I didn't describe my question clearly. I am aware that safe mode won't have QE/CI. My question should have been: When I don't use -x, it hangs on blue screen. Will this fix that? I'm trying to give this a go, but I'm unsure as where to add the dev id exactly and how to type it exactly. I opened Info.plist in nano, know how to use nano and have my dev id noted down, but I just don't know where and what to type exactly. Hmmm my dev id is already under <key>IOPCIMatch</key> and it has the proper rights etc. Does anyone know how the hanging on blue screen could be fixed? Guest Ramm
Have you tried just installing the natit package from DVD?
jan_187
Have you tried just installing the natit package from DVD? If I'm not mistaken that is what is installed when ticking that box during installation. I have a Geforce.kext, natit.kext and some more in my Extensions folder. Booting with -v is no good, cause it hangs on the blue screen, which comes after the texts flying by. Guest Ramm
Can you happen to catch the last thing the "flying text" says?
jan_187
Argh, I must correct myself, it's Titan.kext, not Nitat. I will try to get the log of the boot process for you.

jan_187
Okay, stupid question probably, but do you know where I can find the files needed for Nitat? Is there an installer? Guest Ramm
On the install DVD, under /System/Installation/Packages, there is a package called natit.nvidia.support.pkg. Install it. jan_187
Hehe, I accidentally moved a kext with ACPI in the name and moved it back. I chowned it back to root:wheel too (I think), but I guess I have done something wrong, cause now it's booting with kernel panic about ACPI. I tried booting with -s, but it panics before giving me input. So I'm gonna do re-install and try that natit pkg

jan_187
You are my hero! All I did was install the DVD (JaS.Mac.OS.X.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.PPF.1.Defiant.diskutil.biker880.ich7-R.patch.Integrated.iso) and choose the 10.4.4 login window, nothing else. After it was installed, I booted and installed the natit.nvidia.support.pkg and rebooted. That's it! So installing the Nvidia package that is on this DVD (Titan) did NOT work well for my FX5200. Titan did work for another PC with a 7600GT. Nitat DOES work for my FX5200. Now I can set resos, QE/CI are supported and I can play OpenGL games Like UrbanTerror (quake3 engine). MaDxCrEaM
Hi, newbie to OSx86. I trying to get my video card working right using this method. I have an Geforce 6200 OC (256MB) card. Do I enter the dev id like so? <dev id>0x0221</dev id> towards the beginning of the file where the keys and strings are? Thanks for any help with this. fwappy
I did this way after I installed 10.4.8 and it worked. I have an old GeForce 4200 so I don't think CI is supported, but after adding my dev ID to those files I now have QE support. Now I can use cover flow in iTunes and Toast will finally launch. Sweet! Thanks for the tip.
