JustInSane
I would like to clone my HDD using dd. The destination is smaller than the source, so I need to get all the content to the front of the partition, with all the unused space trailing. This way nothing is lost when I tell dd the range to copy. Will iDefrag do this? mifki
I'm sure any defrag app will be abel to do this, but im not sure if they all move the data to the beginning of the disk or tell you the range at which the data is in. sg
i just used idefrag today for the first time and did a full defrag. it moved all my data to the front of the disk, however to be honest, i feel that my boot times have actually increased. alloutmacstoday
isn't ghost only for windows? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37156-need-a-full-featured-defrag-tool/#findComment-266094 Share on other sites
liquidplasmaflow
As far as I know it is. But I don't think Ghost defragments your files as it creates the drive image anyway (though I could be wrong.)
