After a fresh install I installed the driver and got kernal panic when the card was on, I rebooted into Verbose mode and no kernal paninc :D and it happens like that everytime, normal boot, card on kernal panic, verbose mode, card on no kernal panic and no kernal panic when card is off, so I am unable to take a picture of the kernal panic as I cant see it myself :D . The card is also not listed in Network Preferences but shows the Interface in the Network Utility, it had an IP address listed in the Utility and says the status is "Inactive" (also under "Transfer Statistics" under "Send Errors" there is a 1). I attach the logs as well, hope they help.

EDIT: I also notice that I see "No AirPort driver" crop up alot. Do I need the AirPort driver for this driver to work? (It says it in my log when trying to initialize the card)

hi, I have the 3945 card, (0x42228086)

and i only get, I have changed the plist in iwi3945.kext to match my card id.

Oct 26 04:07:06 localhost kernel[0]: iwi3945: debug_level f5ffffff sw_disable 0

Oct 26 04:07:06 localhost kernel[0]: iwi3945: darwin_iwi3945 map is zero

any idea what might be wrong?

The logs files are from booting messages, before I try to run NS... the picture is from system.log when I tried to turn off and when tried to turn on, the system freeze and there's no message in the system.log

first, Jalavoiu, thank you for your great work on developing the drivers!

I tried to install the driver (the last version from the forum, but this occurs on all latest versions) on a Intel 2200BG MINIPCI. The driver is loaded, though the card is not visible under Network. The NetworkSelector gives "Could not get ID for kernel control.2". So I guess the card is not connected to the driver (?). I added 0x27028086 to the string under IOPCIMatch in de plist (as mentioned in Windows) in iwi2200.kext/Contents/info.plist and restarted. But still the same problem. I searched almost the whole thread about this, page after page, but can't find anything.

I saw the integer under p_disable is set to 1, I tried to set this on 0. I thought maybe it "disables" PCI-support. No effect.

Hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance!

panic fix

to test this:

install the driver

copy networkselector to / folder

reboot

press F8

type -s

type sh /etc/rc

wait for driver to load

if no kp them type

./networkselector

try option 1 a few times

take a picture of the screen if you get a kernel panic

Try booting with the card switched off at the switch on the front of the laptop, works for me when I get kernal panic and it wont boot. Also I have the same laptop as you :)

also have you got the audio working in osx, i cant get mine working, if you got a link for the driver m8 that would be great..

Im using 10.4.10 as well and yeah I did get sound from speakers eventually using Apple HDAPatcher v1.16 and a custom txt file for my sound card CXD9872AKD, not sure if this is yours (the txt file needs to relate to your actual card EXACTLY or it will not work, my problem from the start, one number in the name was different and it caused it not to work.

if your sound card is the Sigmatel CXD9872AKD I can send you the txt file I used to get it to work

Hi Jalavoui, I attached together with the image captures the logs extracted and comments are included in system.txt.

After first install I started the system in single user mode, then I associated the new discovered card in Network Preferences (4 times restart to have finally card association).

At last, again I started in single user mode and tested as you suggested.

The image captures moments are indicated in the comments from system.txt

yes my sound card is "Sigmatel CXD9872AKD High Definition Audio" if you can send me the text file ill give it a go.. thankx.

iwi3945

- fixed scan panic

- i'm working on ilw_alive_start()

this function prepares the driver structures to do all the work

i've added 10 debug spots - see in log

to test this and future releases follow the instructions of last post "boot -s, etc". can someone from iwidarwin write an howto on this?

some logs don't go this far - you'll need to try several times until you get the same messages as seen in http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=16240

you do need to test the driver with the card powered on - otherwise it won't work

you shold look at auqs10 work on logs to learn howto help developing the driver - this really helps

Hi, I attach the text file for the sound card. (just drag the text file on top of the icon for the patcher and it will install and sound should work after reboot)

Anyway, I will install latest driver and report back :thumbsup_anim:

EDIT: I still get kp on boot and I still get kernal panic when switching card on within NetworkSelector when booting it freezes at "localhost configigd[58]: No AirPort Driver Found

Hello guys,

Got a quick question just did an install of 10.4.9 from from uphuck v1.4i rev 3 DVD on X41 Thinkpad that has a 2200 card, the latest software from the site for the card installed and the GUI works I can see the networks, but when I click on any of the networks it says gettting ip address and just stays there. In console it says

SystemUIServer[137] lang is:en
MCXF.initializeDirectoryServices: unable to get the ethernet address
/System/Library/CoreServices/mcxd.app/Contents/MacOS/mcxd:MCXD.initializedDirectoryServices: Unable to get the ethernet address

Please help. Also gata find out from someone about the sleep when closing the lid and the video, but its not for this thread. Please help with the wireless card, really appriciate it :P

Card on means I selected option 1 from networkselector utility which loads the driver

Switch off means hw switch turned off when I create these dmesgs.

dmesg_card_on.txt dmesg_card_off.txt dmesg_card_off_hw_switch_off.txt dmesg_card_on_hw_switch_off.txt

One more thing, I had to boot in -x safe mode and delete the entire network card from network option from OSX system. That finally boots mac osx normally, before it was crashing. When crashing there were two different crash screens depending on my hw switch position. If I leave HW switch on computer loads first desktop screen and crashes. On the other hand, if I leave HW switch off it crashes during boot without showing any sign of loading desktop.

Hi!

I can't put my 3945 on! I try Fn+F2, but only bluetooth led is affected.

I disabled Bluetooth in Bios, but no wifi enabled when Fn+F2.

I try with Networkselector but still off...

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400.

Any person success on a Dell 9400??

Thanx!!

Try to boot your Windows, turn wireless on, then reboot to OSX leaving wirelesss on. Then Network Selector should be able to use your 3945.
