ManCas
Installed iwi3945 from post 2923. No kernel panics whatsoever. But, as Gundam, my network selector doesn't seem to work. It shows 00:00:00.... as my MAC Address. These are my logs. Thanks for your efforts jalavoui and the rest of the guys here. dmesg.txt ioreg.txt system.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/118/#findComment-459866 Share on other sites
axionguy
Thanks for the updated post Jalavoui. It installed fine with no kernel panic (never received one tbh) but the network selector is still showing my mac address as 00:00:00... A fresh new set of logs attached. dmesg.txt ioreg.txt system.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/118/#findComment-459885 Share on other sites
jalavoui
iwi3945 all previous logs you've been posting are wrong - seems to old for the changes i've made maybe i've upload the wrong file try this one and look at system.log before posting to check if there are any changes in the driver if you see this in log: - Card state received: HW:Off SW:On (this happens when you press the switcher / fn+F2) - RFKILL status: = 0x1 rfkill2 0x1 or other value with rfkill2=0x1 means that the card is off you'll have to reboot from windows with the card powered on into mac os to test the driver if you get a panic: boot with -s take a picture and post it here in this version you should see a line in log like this: ipw_bg_alive_start i haven't see this in previous logs you've posted so i guess i've upload the wrong file iwi3945.dmg Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/118/#findComment-459923 Share on other sites
axionguy
i installed (upgraded) using the file you just now attached and rebooted. Good news is that i don't see the RFKILL status in any form. However, i do not show any IPW_bg_alive_start either. In looking at the log from earlier today, showed the rfkill status. I'll update with logs in a few mins hopefully. clevomac
Installed for PROSet/Wireless 3945a/b/g from http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ When i rebooted it crashed (press shut down button etc) then i rebooted it again ... the osx went through fine. However it crashes all the time when im booting up ... im using Uphuck 10.4.9 v1.4i Anyway when i clicked on the network icon within system prefs i got "PCI Ethernet Slot pci8086, 4222" is installed. It appears in the dropdown list but not as a green (or red or amber) icon as detected. When i select "PCI Ethernet Slot pci8086, 4222" option I get all the tabbed options like TCP/IP, PPPoE, AppleTalk, Proxies and Ethernet. When I click on Ethernet .. I do get an id etc with configure set to auto. When I click on safari there's no internet etc. Not sure if all this is working or not! But that's what happened on my machine. BTW is the one on http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin the same attachment download on jalavoui post #2928? axionguy
Its official, i don't know which direction i have to move the slider to know if it is on or off. to the left is a wireless icon, but to the right is a light. i would imagine it is to the left towards the icon but i have no way of telling because the logs look identical when i reboot in either direction. i guess i'll have to reinstall vista but i can't find my dvd! auqs10
Jalavoui, the logs are uploaded, and comments included for version uploaded in post #2928. I do not keep older versions and logs. Each time I clean the logs with Onix, and those extracted I post in this forum. axionguy
Gundam, I am running OSX alone as well and tried to install boot camp earlier, it won't work due to rom requirements. Hopefully I'm wrong but that was my experience earlier today. ManCas
well, i tried the last iwi3945 with these results. 1. Also, when I pressed (1) two times I got a Kernel Panic. 2. I tried booting from windows, making sure that my wireless is on, but I still see that rfkill2 thing on the system log. 3. When I start network selector and type (2) I get a message saying that mi wireless is off, I turned on with option (1). Now I get the usual say hello to the world message. I ended up posting the logs anyway, hope it helps. Thanks for your work jalavoui. zeclubbeur
Hi ! I could help you to debug the software and develop it but, how I can obtain/create the log files ? I've installed the latest iwi3945 driver on my laptop (HP Pavillon dv5245ea) but it still not working. The interface was detected in the network manager (pci8086,4222) but I can't setup it. Network manager doesn't work (mac adress at 0) but I haven't kernels panic and, the iwi3945.kext seems to load successfuly. ifconfig command returns that the wireless card is up but, the mac adress is always at 0. Note that if I try "ifconfig en3 up" or "ifconfig en3 down" (en3 is my wireless card), the card seems to up / down. I Think there is a problem when the driver try to obtain the mac adress of the card. auqs10
Jalavoui, would help to send you extracted logs from an iMac with Airport?
