trav1085 Posted December 25, 2006 Share Posted December 25, 2006 (edited) I just finished installing Mac OS X86 10.4.8 (Darwin 8.8.1, semthex kernel) on my computer. When I booted up it displayed the welcome video and then went to the setup assistant. I then saw the screen saying "There is no keyboard connected to your computer. Please Connect Your Keyboard." I have my Dell USB keyboard and USB plugged in (with USB 2.0) but It still doesn't find it. I selected the 10.4.8 combo update patch, the intel SSE3 patch, the USB 2.0 support patch and non others. I tried pluggin my g3 iMac keyboard in but no difference. Something goes "click" is OSx86's brain and there's your usb-stuff, and install is finished! good luck, n.m. nagal Posted December 27, 2006 Share Posted December 27, 2006 I had the same issue when installing with Jas 10.4.8. I am not sure exactly which item fixed it but the two things I did do was: 1. Reinstalled 10.4.8 WITHOUT the USB Fix 2. In BIOS changed a bunch of settings for the USB port that dealt with compatibility, most notable enabling legacy support 2 might not be any help to you as I was working with an ASUS P5B-Deluxe motherboard. vertigos Posted December 30, 2006 Share Posted December 30, 2006 I have the same issue fresh install on new Harddisk. tried removing the usb patch during the install as an option that didn't work. I have messed with bios options no luck there. This machine has no legacy support. It is all usb I put a pci usb card in hoping that might help no difference. I saw someone post that this config worked on 10.4.6 then patched to 10.4.7 I am going to attempt that. I have a dell E510.
