So I've did a clean install of macOS Tahoe Beta 3 and with csr-active-config=03080000 I restored the missing AppleHDA.kext.

I didn't have to disable SIP in recovery mode simply because 03080000 already disables  Apple Internal, Kext Signing and Filesystem Protection.

For clarification:

AppleALC.kext is injected via OpenCore with previous Layout-ID that worked on previous macOS Versions.

And since AppleHDA is signed, no need for AMFIPass too

Nice addition, but since lots of people might use IO80211FamilyLegacy.kext and IOSkywalkFamily.kext for their WiFi they might need AMFIPass anyway which get's me thinking what if we use Mykextinstaller to install them in /S/L/E instead of injecting them with OpenCore?!

It will be. Mine got deleted from B1 to B2 update

Obviously, so that's why we inject them through OC, I was just wondering if they work like AppleHDA does, but we have to install them after each update though.

Maybe again a minority opinion (and please forgive me if it is), but now that there's a dedicated thread for this, it would be nice if there were clear instructions posted somewhere (maybe the first post in this thread?) since we still have posts like this that are causing confusion.  @naiclub, it was not your fault.  You were just following the wrong instructions.

@Mirone is the best person to give that instruction but for the time being these are the steps I took to activate the Audio on Tahoe beta 3:

1. Download the Mykextinstaller

2. Downloaded the AppleHDA.kext  I assume you can use the kext from Sequoia and older versions of macOS

3. Set the csr-active-config=03080000

4. Enabled AppleALC.kext in OpenCore under the kernel section as before

5. Downloaded and installed the KDK

6. installed the AppleHDA.kext with Mykextinstaller. (the app prompted to locate the kext I wanted to install so I already have copied the file to my desktop)

7. Rebooted the system when the kext was installed and after that I had Audio.

The other instructions mention to disable SIP in the recovery mode is for the system that have SIP enabled in the config.plist

If anyone encountered Move to Trash issue just right click on the file, click Open, if they still get the same error open System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> scroll down until you find blocked app (in this case Mykextinstaller) and click Open Anyway.

@deeveedee

I agree.

The first post must have the latest version too, so looking for it in the thread is not needed.

Anyway, thanks a lot @Mirone your app solves the issue in a not so complicated way.

@miliuco

Since this topic is created by splitting the posts from Tahoe topic I edited the first post by adding @Mirone's last revision of the Mykextinstaller until he comes online and changes the first post if he wants to.

@Cyberdevs Who authorized the creation of this topic? Just kidding:hysterical:. Thanks for creating a dedicated topic I was actually going to do that today, but time hasn't really been on my side. I'll edit the first post shortly and add your post about the installation process.

Just to add: in my case, I had to use OpenCore, and then I was able to disable SIP using the commands that @Mirone provided:

1. First of all in Recovery Mode run this commands in Terminal

csrutil disable csrutil
authenticated-root disable

2. Reboot and run in Recovery Mode again this commands

mount -uw /Volumes/Tahoe
bless --mount /Volumes/Tahoe --bootefi --last-sealed-snapshot

"Tahoe" is name of your partition if you have more them one name need put  bless --mount /Volumes/macOs\ Tahoe (...)

3. Follow steps above @Cyberdevs

"1. Download the Mykextinstaller

2. Downloaded the AppleHDA.kext  I assume you can use the kext from Sequoia and older versions of macOS

3. Set the csr-active-config=03080000

@Mirone

I'd like to submit a bug report, It's nothing important but I thought you might wanted to know about it (if it hasn't been reported yet).

I restored the sealed snapshot and it worked fine but I noticed the Volume that I had Tahoe installed on which I conveniently labeled it as Tahoe has been renamed to _Macintosh_HD_ after being restored. It's no biggie I just renamed it back to Tahoe but still I wanted to share it with you.

Hi my Master, we need restore sealed snapshot? I can left this way? Without restore? Clover boot after use AMFIpass.kext and boot args, but Mirone will make new tests I will test for him too!! ;)

God bless you @Cyberdevs

Restoring the sealed snapshot might only be necessary to receive the incremental updates, otherwise the full installer will be offered instead, and when the Sealed Snapshot is restored the installed kext won't be loaded so we lose the Audio.
