kgp
@miliuco, my friend, could you please provide a working link to the latest version of your app? I am using your App for months and it is really of big help, but I am still with version 2.0.2. All recent links provided in this thread a broken, despite the https://github.com/perez987/DownloadFullInstaller link in the first post of this thread , which provides Download.Full.Installer-2.5.0-137.zip. However this version does not work at all: Many thanks in advance, KGP 👍 Edited November 9, 2025 by KGP-iMacPro Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361333-download-full-installer-app-updated-for-macos-tahoe/page/3/#findComment-2843445 Share on other sites
Anto65
It works fine here Spoiler Maybe you need to give in the terminal " xattr -cr your_app " or authorize it in Privacy and Settings ? 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361333-download-full-installer-app-updated-for-macos-tahoe/page/3/#findComment-2843447 Share on other sites

No way to authorise it in Privacy & Security! It simply does not show up there, despite the warning 😉 Usually, this approach works for all other Apps from unknown developers. The macOS warning also says that the App is damaged. Maybe you have Gatekeeper disabled on your system. No intentions to do so.... miliuco
@KGP-iMacPro On Tahoe, Apple has enforced security about apps downloaded from Internet. More startling warnings. It's all explained in the "app is damaged and can't be opened" text of my repo (link in README): https://github.com/perez987/DownloadFullInstaller Fastest way to fix this is xattr. System Settings works too. All is in the readme. Of course, if I have a developer account and notarize the app (I can't do it) the warning seems less dangerous, but you would always get a warning about something downloaded from the Internet. 5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361333-download-full-installer-app-updated-for-macos-tahoe/page/3/#findComment-2843449 Share on other sites

Sergey_Galan
I updated the app. I liked it overall, but I noticed that if I launch the app with "Tahoe" selected, I get this offset. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361333-download-full-installer-app-updated-for-macos-tahoe/page/3/#findComment-2844685 Share on other sites
Anto65
I found that offset on the previous version, but not on this last one. miliuco
@Sergey_Galan @Anto65 @eSaF I can't reproduce this behaviour, installers list is okay every time I set Tahoe in the picker selection. I'm on Tahoe 26.1 and I've tried Spanish and the 3 languages that you use. The app seems to work fine. I don't know what to say. Are you with latest version 3.0.0-157? Run in Terminal: /Applications/Download\ Full\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Download\ Full\ Installer, change catalog a couple of times and post the output. Thanks. Thebes Knossos
Hi, nice application, I've got just latest, is Ok. I have a question. As MacOS installs are bigger and bigger, is it possible somewhere to change default destination download (folder / volume)? miliuco
@Thebes Knossos Not at this time but, as is a good idea, I'll try to add a simple settings to be able to select target directory or leave Downloads by default. I'll show you the result. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361333-download-full-installer-app-updated-for-macos-tahoe/page/3/#findComment-2846547 Share on other sites
miliuco
@Thebes Knossos Please try the attached app. Ignore the mint-colored border and other design details; it's still in testing. I just want to know if it works correctly. Clicking "Select Download Folder" opens a directory selection dialog. The selected directory is saved in the preferences. If no custom directory is set, it remains the default Downloads folder. Try it and let me know the result. Thebes Knossos
Tanks. I can change destination to a volume with a Fat32 partition. Download process can't terminate, because application seems first download complete file to a local temp file and I haven't room enough to do the job. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361333-download-full-installer-app-updated-for-macos-tahoe/page/3/#findComment-2846566 Share on other sites
miliuco
@Allan @Slice admin staff Can you move this thread to Hackintool Tools? Maybe here it is not the right place. @Thebes Knossos Thanks. I'll refine the code to add this feature to the project. miliuco
@Thebes Knossos Wait, I have to work on the code, custom downloads folder is not saved in a right way and, when download ends, console says: Error: The file “InstallAssistant-14.8.3-23J220.pkg” could not be saved to the “TEMP” folder. It's not an issue with your disk space, it's another thing. I'll keep you informed. miliuco
@Thebes Knossos I think it's already done. Please try and comment. https://github.com/perez987/DownloadFullInstaller/releases/tag/3.5-175 Settings to select downloads folder The About This Hack -> Settings menu (⌘ ,) opens a window where you can select a different folder to download installers. Default is ~/Downloads. Visual indicators (green marks) of downloaded installers are updated to match those in the selected folder. Thebes Knossos
Thanks for new version, just tested yet. I Can't still nor finish the download. Test by yourself, select an external disk as destination. Open a terminal, inside execute command df -h . Start the download, and observe what happening via next commands df-h . You can see that free space on main partition is decreasing as the download continues Conclusion: the application first download locally, then at end moves the downloaded data to destination So you need same space locally as the amount of Gigabytes to download. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361333-download-full-installer-app-updated-for-macos-tahoe/page/3/#findComment-2846625 Share on other sites
miliuco
@Thebes Knossos Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, the download goes first to a temp folder and is copied to the right folder afterwards. I'll try to change this behavior so the download goes directly to only one place. miliuco
@Thebes Knossos I think it's done. Replaced copyItem in source code by moveItem in DownloadManager.swift and MultiDownloadManager.swift to avoid double disk space usage. Now the installer goes to one single place from the beginning. In my system works fine but I have free space enough. I appreciate your test to confirm that the temp folder is not an issue anymore.
