Anto65
I think I'm going to become a stalker 🤭 I wanted to ask you if there is the possibility of translating the app interface into English? I imagine that there is a lot of work behind it, I think it would help many of us to better understand the output, especially in case of errors ... thanks for your patience and availability Edited June 27, 2025 by Anto65 4 1 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/#findComment-2835208 Share on other sites
robi62
Hi. How to run OCLP-Mod in English? When I run the app it opens in Chinese, although I have English set as main language in System Preferences. Github: https://github.com/laobamac/OCLP-Mod You can share your advice/issues or communicate with others in this topic. Hello, A couple of thoughts from my side: 1. thank you 2. well done. 3. if we have a way of helping you with the translation, please, let us know. There are a couple of platforms dedicated to translating projects like this, but I'm not sure how exactly do they work, or if they would work for this case. For example, and it's only an example, Crowdin is one of the platforms I used before for translating software. But there are probably many more. I don't speak Chinese, so my translation probably won't be 100% accurate, but I do have the original OCLP to take a look at for comparison, so that should help. Also, I can use Google Translate. I mean if it's just strings, you could probably do the same on your own. I'm just saying, if we can help with that, please, let us know. Until then, I would focus more on the functionality. We can translate using OCR and Google Translate. Also, for what we need (root patches), we could probably do it blindfolded, too. :)) So, not a huge priority in my opinion, but again, if we can help with that, let us know. Speaking of functionality, the first time I applied the AppleHDA patch, everything went fine (except that probably due to a lot of people downloading the KDK, it couldn't install it, because it couldn't download it fully). Next day I tried again, the KDK download was successful and everything ok. Now, the only thing I don't quite understand is why after a clear NVRAM, the audio outputs (pretty much everything that AppleHDA would have added) have vanished from the menu. Also, I tried to remove root-patches and apply again, but it would not work anymore. I'm not sure why. Not sure if this is a bug with the app itself, maybe an issue with MacOS Tahoe, or just something I've done. Anyway, I'd say: focus on the school, and if you still have time after that, and you want to do this as a side project, that would be much appreciated. Thank you. Hide contents Hey Fusion! Your explanations and tutorials are legendary by now. Yes, SIP is disabled in config. And even if NVRAM reset would somehow turn that ON again, shouldn't it be back again (back to disable) after multiple reboots? Also, OCLP-Mod didn't complain about having SIP enabled, or AMFI enabled. So my guess is that's probably not what's causing it to fail to re-apply... Kinda weird. Just thought I'd mention it here, in case someone else encounters the same issue. Anyway, I will check SIP status, just to confirm. It would be weird to get re-enabled, because I never re-enabled it myself, and csr-active-config has always been set to 03080000. Edit: I found the issue. No, it wasn't nvram (but could've been), but querying kextstat revealed what the problem was. AppleALC kext wasn't loading. Why? Well, because it wasn't told to! 🤣 Stupid me, I swapped configs yesterday, used another config I used for testing different scenarios when I was struggling to get Tahoe to boot and only using minimal kexts, and this one simply didn't have all kexts enabled in config. Therefore, also no sound. Enabled all the kexts back up and now I have sound again. So, thank you for the tips! They brought me on the right path to fixing the issue. Thank you! Just thought I'd mention it here, in case someone else encounters the same issue. @arsradu, It is not the NVRAM reset per se that might have done this but any process afterwards eg pressing the SIP toggle button on the OC main menu that may have changed the SIP (csr-active-config) value. The default behavior of OC is NOT to overwrite the csr-active-config value in NVRAM (with the csr-active-config value in your OC config.plist) if it is already present eg Say after you reset NVRAM at the OC Main Menu (removing all variables), you also pressed the OC SIP toggle button to disable SIP (csr-active-config variable will be created and set to 7f020000) or re-enable SIP (csr-active-config will be created and set to 00000000). Since the csr-active-config variable is now present in NVRAM (with value 7f020000 or 00000000), OC will not overwrite this value with the value you set in your config.plist (03080000) until you reset NVRAM again and immediately reboot. TLDR: for the csr-active-config value of 03080000 in your config.plist to be given precedence all the time, you must delete any existing csr-active-config value at each boot by adding csr-active-config under OC config.plist/NVRAM/Delete/7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 .... Spoiler Apologies to @laobamac_yyds. It is not my intention to hijack your thread about OCLP-Mod 😀. miliuco
@laobamac_yyds The problem I see with @lorys89 's fork is that they are two versions of the same app in different GUI languages. If you improve something and add or change a string, it won't be as easy to update the Lorys89 fork. It would be best to have both languages available in the GUI, but I know it's hard work. I don't know why Lorys89 replaced references to OCLP_Mod with OpenCore-Patcher; links to laobamac are missing, replaced by Dortania. 3 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/#findComment-2835290 Share on other sites
