Since doing a clean install of Jas 10.4.9 and migrating apps etc over from the backup drive, Missing Sync 5.2.1 for Palm T/X loads, but I get the "trial demo has expired" message. When I hit "register" the reg screen pops up for a second then crashes.

I tried a new download, but get a "cannot be installed on this computer" message. I've bought and paid for this software! (gasp......yeah, shelled out moolah for SOFTware ;) ).

Just wondering if it's safe to email mark/space asking about this. They may not know there's an incompatibility with the latest OS/X update, although I'm running OS/X 10.4.9 legit on the Macbook, and MissingSync works just fine on the 'book.

Let me know what you find out. It really shouldn't be as hard to get this working. I read somewhere that Missing Sync was working with 10.4.3 hackintosh ...

Should be possible!

It doesn't work with 10.4.9 and 8.9.1 kernel.

I bought ver. 3.02 and it closes after 2 secs.

Should have bought Pocketmac :)

It wouldn't help you if it didn't crash, because you would not be able to sync with a hackintosh anyway. If there is anyone who has managed to do so, please report.

(You can get it to 'not crash', by applying a certain Bad APE registration patch ... which is illegal.)

This is where I am at currently:

5/9/07 17:28:00 MSUI: deviceName: xxxx device: FUJITSU SIEMENS COMPUTERS Pocket LOOX 5xx ipAddress 1.2.254.169 vid:0x0000 pid:0x0000

Check the IP address ... Reversed?!

OK... on my computer, Pocketmac also crashes after the SN. It closes and that's it.

There is a tiny trick that worked for me, regarding the application crash after a few seconds:

1. Run uninstaller for Missing Sync

2. Delete preferences for (/Library/Preferences/, ~/Library/Preferences) - something like com.markspace...plist

3. Run installer for Missing Sync but DO NOT choose to put the application in the Dock.

4. Restart and (pray)enjoy.

This way it doesn't crash for me anymore ... now if I could just get it to connect :(

Edit: trick seems to only work on 3.0.0. Bummer.

It has to be something about the kernels we're using on 10.4.8 and 10.4.9.

Well I bit the bullet and emailed Mark/Space about this. We shall see what they come up with. I miss using the Palm to sync the computers.

did the guys from Mark/Space say anything? or they just refered that an hackintosh is not a legal computer?

Does 3.0.2 still work in 10.4.6 kernels for example? What changed during those updates?

Anybody with 10.4.6 hackintosh up for a test drive? :)

I can try that this afternoon.

I'll check on that later.

The thing is, MissingSync for Palm T/X worked flawlessly on 10.4.6 Hackintosh, and even 10.4.7. It's only since the backup, then install 10.4.9 and migrate settings etc over to the new install that I'm having the issue.

Exactly the same problem.

I am now stick with 10.4.6 and change the plist file to make it LOOKS 10.4.8 in order to install Adobe CS3.

I've tried.

it closes after 3 seconds. a whole sec. more than with 10.4.8

Same error? That's weird. Did you do a fresh install? I suspect some files are messing up, because I managed to get 3.0.0 working on a fresh install, but now it won't work anymore (since I tried 3.0.1 and 3.0.2). This seriously sux :( Is there any other way to sync my WM5 PPC with my hackintosh? Just syncing calendar and contacts would be more than enough.

Hackintosh users, were stuck and it really sux

same error with a fresh install. had to format my hard drive and install 10.4.6 just to test MS 3.0.2

The only other syncing software I know for OSX, since M$ thinks OSX users aren't worth the time, is Pocketmac. But I got the same behaviour. It asks for the SN, and then it colapses.

That's it: Hackintosh users, were stuck and it really sux.

What?? Same error with Pocketmac too? Did you run console to see the logs about the error? Does it match the error from Missing Sync?

I haven't installed Pocketmac yet, I'm still waiting for the WM5 compatible version and I don't want to screw things up right from the start :)

Haven't run console.

Let me do that and I'll check on you later.

Now, I've got to run to church... or whatever :P

off-topic: Man this is some intenst church you go to. You've been away for 2 days :D

Any news otherwise?

Sorry. Been working a lot and haven't had the time.

Ok. So, this far, Pocketmac returned the same error. It asks for the SN, and after insertion, the whole thing closes.

at least I was able to put the SN.... a whole lot better than with Missing Sync. :(

No Sync for my PPC today!

I think here is our problem

0 0 AppleUSBCDCACMData: start - Find CDC driver failed

Anybody knows what the CDC driver is?

You can download CDC driver from darwin sources ( http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/Current/ ) and compile.

But, unfortunately, it idoesn't help. I see the same error after installation of CDC driver.
