Missing Sync 3.01 Won't let me register

I just purchased The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile v3.0.1

 

The file I downloaded after purchase was from

 

I installed, rebooted and launched the app from the doc.

 

I have a dialog box that comes up with the text "This demo version of missing sync has expired" and it prompts me with 3 buttons.

 

When I click "Enter Registration Code" button the app immediately closes - without any errors - just exits.

 

I'm connected to the internet. Also I see the transparent icon come up showing connections and according to my PDA I am connected.. just not on my desktop here..

 

 

Does anyone have this app working well on osx86?

You are not alone with this problem - I have the exact same issue.

 

I even reinstalled the older 2.5 version, but that simply fails to sync with my Dell Axim 50v running WM5. The software gets pushed to the axim and I see the connection "dots", but the software and the axim never talk to each other. Interestingly the version 2.5 did run prior to me upgrading to 10.4.8.

I have also experienced the problem of Missing Sync not working only crashes. I would luv to see this working too so I can sync my PPC under OS X86 instead of in Parallels / XP.

Missing Sync works flawlessly for me, after trying, then buying.

 

I did have to re-install the app in order for it to work, but it kept all my profile/conduit settings just fine, after the re-install.

Contact the Mark/Space people. They're wonderful to deal with; very helpful (I had to contact them for Agendus issues, which I purchased thru their site, NOT for MissingSync issues, as there were none, not even after a reinstall of OS/X to a different HD).

I also have 10.4.8.1 latest semthex kernel.

Maybe it is USB patch related, did you applied any patch for that?

It seems to run with 10.7, or am i wrong, is anyone here with 10.4.8 who got it?

here is my situation.. I 1st tried a version downloaded from bittorrent and patched with KCNScrew.app (patches version 3.0 - also works on patching 3.01 but you end up with a 3.0 version of missing sync)

 

That version (the warez one) installs and run on my desktop fine although i can't sync - they sync button is greyed out.. my pda can connect to the net however and do things like a manual avantgo update initiated on the pda.

 

So i decided that I would buy the app.. I uninstalled and removed (pretty sure about this) all traces of previous install. That (the legal purchased copy) is the one that crashes at time of registration.

 

Just to test (and get manual avantgo updates back at least) I patched my legal version with the KCNScrew app (google it if you don't know what this is) and I am back to where I was before buying the program.. at least it does not crash.. it just won't sync.. frustrating..

But i have the same problem, maybe i should try the :pirate2: Version too, to see what happens.

I think our problem is 10.4.8 semthex kernel or USB patch related.

Cause it works in scewjßs 10.4.7.

Is there a way to uninstall the USB patch for my Gigabyte DS3?

Mabe aclean install without the pacht do it, but i really dont know.

Bought and paid for Missing Sync for Palm OS v 5.1.2 (140)

 

Palm TX, bluetooth enabled, bluetooth dongle for the desktop, sync cable, etc, all working great.

 

JAS disc, 10.4.5 (reverted after some USB issues with .4.7 and .4.8, which are still not fixed ) no tweaks no nothing, just installed as-is, and everything else works fine.

 

System specs:

 

-P4 630 HT, 3G

-ASUS P5GD1-VM

-Seagate 320G SATA II (OS/X)

-Maxtor 250G SATA

-Maxtor 250G PATA (XPproSP2)

-OCZ 4@512 DDR 400 2-2-2-5

Tooo many peripherals to list (camera, mp3 player, ipaq, Palm, 2 @ powered USB hubs, KB, mouse, webcam, etc etc etc)

I tested on another machine with 945 chipset.

With 10.4.6 it works flawless, also after i upgraded to 10.4.7.

When ithen upgrade to 104.8, the sync does not work anymore.

But he opens, on my 965 chipset PC with 10.4.8 he closes right after startup.

Maybe i try to 10.4.7 on my 965 chipset.

My Asus P525 don't work with missing sync

It's not working here It's a shame, that's one of the reasons I switched from Linux to Mac (I need to be able to sync my Axim). Anyways, I tried 2.5.1 and 2.5.2 and both of them don't allow me to sync (button is greyed out). Version 3.0.1 just doesn't work (window closes immediately).

Anyone got any other idea ??

I have the exact same problems as described above.

 

I am running the purchased version of 3.0.1 and it starts to sync, then bombs with the EXC_BAD_ACCESS kernel crash.

 

I tried contacting support, but they just gave me lots of generic things to try that made no difference.

I'm pretty sure it's related to the 10.4.8 USB drivers. I've also tried both 2.5 and 3.0.1 and although I can browse the web with my iPaq (connected via USB) the Sync button just stays greyed out. The logs doesn't show any kind of errors - it looks like the Missing Sync simply can't find the Pocket PC, even though it's USB drivers allow my iPaq to connect to the Internet. It's really weird.

 

The only solution I can think about right now is to wait for the next Mac Mini update (with a Core 2 Duo) and simply buy one...

Same problem here.

I've upgrade my system with a flash install of 10.4.8 jas dvd amd/intel. I am trying to install Missing Sync 5.2.1 for Palm OS to sync with my Treo 650, it ends up "This software cannot be installed in this computer". I remove the installation check and intalled the program. However, it crashes when the registration menu open.

 

It was working when I am using 10.4.6 jas. However it is not working when using 10.4.8

 

I think it should be not compatible with 10.4.8 DVD.

 

Is there any one figure out a solution for it? Thank you

I don't think that the problem with Missing Sync is the USB driver that came with 10.4.8

My iPaq could not sync with it and when I install PocketMac it works flawlessly. I will say that it seems to be a software problem.

If someone with 10.4.8 makes it work please post it because I want to give it a try.

Missing Sync won't sync via bluetooth USB adapter either ... I have not tried the wi-fi sync, for obvious reasons
