I have 3 Laptops

1) Toshiba Qosmio G15-501R w Intel Chipset

2) Acer Aspire 9503 w Intel Chipset

3) Acer 3000 Series with Sis chipset I guess

1) Toshiba's DVD drive is on Secondary/Master and it boots with the Jas 10.4.8 dvd and installs well. It works with both Titan and Natit drivers however if these drivers are installed it gives only VGA output to external monitors, which is fine with me for testing on my projector

laptop has centrino 1.8 ghz / go6600 pci.e 128 mb/ 1 gb ram/ 140gb hdd (funny thing is it shows ide on windows, sata on os x)/ intel chipset

2) Acer 9503 has dvd driver but on primary/slave! The weird thing is that it shows in device settings two ide controllers and secondary is empty! It exist but not used for anything! Anyways, if you start the Jas dvd it will get famous /com.apple.....plist error! I dunno why... but something to do with primary slave ide channel i guess. When you are in windows with vmware the dvd works and install on the right partition i made. and it boots like a charm... slow though... Anyways, but if you go to boot and load it from normal boot (not from vmware) with -v it loads lots of stuff too quick to count and see what it is, but than after it finishes tons of loading, the screen goes black/blank.... i m attaching it to my external monitor and still no change restart, no change again it just sits on blank/black screen no error message given!!!!! again load windows /vmware it boots and works!!!! i tried all sort of things like taking the hdd on my toshiba (it has two hdd slots) install it and on reboot move it acer ... some errors (guessing cached hardware errors from extensions..... ... use vmware direct hdd access install / reboot real no luck.... create virtual disk/convert to raw/ and dd it back to the partition.... same blank screen... just dont get it it works perfectly fine on vmware... but not on real...

3)last acer has amd sempron 3000+ with sis chipset... it boots with dvd but gets some errrors , dont remember it but probably not compatible hardware i guess....

I am just driving crazy here with this acer 9503!!! it wont boot from dvd but works perfect from vmware! any suggestions????

ok ill try tonight with a ide/sata converter I just bought (theory being completely bypass that damn jmicron converter)

Ill post my results

ok tried my little converter to no avail (as it turns out the bridge it uses is a damn jmicron!!!!!!!!!!!)

so thats going back to he shop :) :)

I have also installed the dvd to a vmware image so the dvd media itself is fine. I'm assuming it isnt possible to carbon clone copy the os across

Hello2everybody. I have the same problem and solved it with success) but installation type need a lot of time..

I've installed JaS 10.4.8 on other PC. Then installed there pion's patch for jmicron chip. After that, I maked image of partition with mac os in Norton Ghost program and them simply restored it on my laptop. You must install Acronis OS selector or other boot manager.

P.S> Sry 4 my english :)
