Cyberdevs
Beta 4 update went fine on Z690 hack. @miliuco I've had the same issue with the previous beta (beta 3) so I had to use the full installer to update my system, but the 4th update was OK. 4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/359530-pre-release-macos-sequoia/page/44/#findComment-2823240 Share on other sites

I remember I've had an issue with downloading an update. Cant remember what the error was but it was fixed by removing 2 of my 4 ram sticks. Okay, I'll try and comment, It doesn't make sense but we've seen stranger things. Because I still have the issue and we still have the standalone installer not available. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/359530-pre-release-macos-sequoia/page/44/#findComment-2823242 Share on other sites
miliuco
@eSaF Only moderately frustrating. We will continue investigating this enigma that has even appeared in the news. @Irish_Man Tried with half RAM -> no success. 2 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/359530-pre-release-macos-sequoia/page/44/#findComment-2823247 Share on other sites
Max.1974
Hi @miliuco my dear friend! My friend, with your experience I can just help with some tips that you are certainly more aware of than me. My hacks went up smoothly with several RestrictEvents tips, Lory's, Dortania's and the one I compiled manually. One is 59kb, the other is 71kb and the compiled one is 80kb. I have no longer used the bluetooth kexts nor the firmware or patchram3, so I advise removing them if possible. I would like to tell you that something happens when we use Clover and Opencore interchangeably. I imagine you tried both. But it's worth trying to upload with Clover well configured, because I believe it's more stable for that. Another important thing is to check if you have a Bios update and, whenever possible, "Load Optimal Defaults" in the Bios before proceeding with the update. As a last resort, it's worth fixing the Kernel caches, and Maldon has a wonderful tool in Olarila. Follows attached. But I believe it is something related to your kexts, or perhaps an SSDT that is not very well fixed. Another important thing is to know that when you change SMBIOS, if you happen to use the excellent kext for usb ports, usbports.kext contains SMBIOS. For example, I use SSDT with the compiled RHUBS, and this solved my problem. In the UPC corrective method. The detail is that when we use Usbports it contains SMBIOS in the plist internally. If you can check (if this is your mapping kext). Hugs!! At the time: I forgot said to try iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS: its better to me that others. miliuco
@Max.1974 Thank you, you are very kind. I've tried everything I can think of. Also of course SMBIOS on iMacPro1,1 and MacPro7,1. It could be that there's something corrupted or damaged on the system itself, some macOS file or something, and I'm messing around with the settings and the fix isn't there. Anyway, when the standalone installer is available I'll install the full beta 4 to see if it fixes it. 3 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/359530-pre-release-macos-sequoia/page/44/#findComment-2823251 Share on other sites
