Hi,

I've been trying to get MacOS installed onto an Asus Pn64 using OpenCore.

Asus PN64:

https://www.asus.com/displays-desktops/mini-pcs/pn-series/asus-expertcenter-pn64/
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13500H
Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller I225-V (rev 03)
Intel Corporation Wi-Fi 6 AX210/AX211/AX411 160MHz (rev 1a)
32GB RAM

I am able to select the Monterey installer from the OpenCore menu but it quickly ends up stopping at:
[EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START]

I have redone the config.plist a few times but as I am new to this I am sure I've made some mistakes in there.

I recently opened it with OCAuxiliaryTools (https://github.com/ic005k/OCAuxiliaryTools) and that caught a few missing things but I still can't get the installer to run.

Is the problem simply that this configuration isn't supported?

I've attached the log and an screenshot of the EFI files/directories.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

@naiclub thanks for responding to my post. Indeed I had read through the rules before posting. What specifically did I overlook?
Cheers!

@naiclub thanks for your suggestion. I just updated that boot arg but still no luck with the installer, it stops at that same place:

I have attached the last log and config.plist in case you might have time to take a look.

Set AppleXcpmExtraMsrs to True in Kernel - Quirks.

The Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPUs require the AppleXcpmExtraMsrs quirk.

My Samsung Galaxy Book Core i5-1135G7 (NT750XDA-KF59U) laptop needed AppleXcpmExtraMsrs set to True to boot without stopping at the #[EB|LOG:EXITBS:START] log.

Therefore, the owner of the topic will be a 13th generation. Will it be the same?

@shl628 I'll give that a try now, thank you for the suggestion

You try changing SMbios to another one, such as iMac Pro 1.1 or 20.1-19.1 something like this.

Thanks for the suggestion @naiclub but it also gets stuck at EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START]

Any other ideas? 🙏

@Cyberdevs thank you for continuing to help me with this.

I haven't had much luck disabling CFGLock using the methods explained here - https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/misc/msr-lock.html#checking-if-your-firmware-supports-cfg-lock-unlocking

grub> setup_var_cv CpuSetup 0x43 0x01 0x00
Looking for CpuSetup variable... var name: CpuSetup, var size:
18, var guid: b08797ff-e6e8-4193 - a9-97-5-9-9b-Ba-db-32
- GUID does not match expected GUID, taking it nevertheless.
expected a different size of the Setup variable (got 967 (0x3c7) bytes). Continue with care... successfully obtained "CpuSetup" variable from VSS (got 967 (0x3c7) bytes). offset 0x43 is: 0x01
setting offset 0x43 to 0x00
error: can't set variable using efi. (error: 0x8000000000000008).

Do you know if there is any way to overcome this?

As mentioned in the above guide, you need to have macOS installed to be able to follow that guide but the link I've sent you explains which section of the kernel Quriks are required to disable the CFGLock using OpenCore.

The most important thing is that your iGPU isn't supported by any version of macOS so there is no point of installing macOS on your PC. I'm sorry but even if you manage to get the macOS to boot you won't have GPU acceleration which renders your hackintosh useless.
