Montelli
I think when I tried open core I had clicked on the backup icon and normally it takes some time... so is revealed the mystery and then I panicked a bit because I couldn't see any more uefi ssd... it's the time I'm a little tired, here it's one in the morning 😅 now UEFI boot option Samsung SSD 960 EVO 250GB is present again and everything seems to work 😁 thanks again 😁 how can i understand if powermanagement is correct? cpu, gpu, fans, ? and I installed the intel power gadget but when I restart I see the icons double without being able to distinguish between backup and main macos, how can I fix it? antuneddu
Maybe you selected recovery .. takes longer to load Disable the backup disk from the bios if you can (it will be of little use if you upgrade to Monterey or Ventura 😁 ) ... sees it as a dual install ( It is a bit more complicated to rename the disk manually ) You can take pictures in the gui by pressing f10 ... you find it in the EFI 😉
antuneddu
You should report the SMBIOS values you have in Clover ( I generated random values in OC ) you can use the xplist used previously .... if you have difficulty send me the clover plist in pm
Montelli
Yes I noticed yesterday that the config file is empty (and this is a surprise because to make hackintosh compatible with clover was once a feat) Can I copy directly from the SMBIOS section of the old config file and can I paste with cloverconfigurator?? do I have to copy everything? right? among other things since I updated cloverconfigurator, I noticed "your SMBIOS need to update" , why? I have to update, how? Edited December 13, 2022 by Montelli
antuneddu
I didn't understand in clover there is no data for the smbios ? if yes, then report those of OC Or report from older Clover to the new Clover ... and report same data to OC > PlatformInfo > Generic Exactly the smbios is to be updated ( clover ) look at the date 6/25/17 to update Edited December 13, 2022 by antuneddu
Montelli
in the config file that I used before with clover there are the data, and I ask if I can copy all those present in the SMBIOS and paste them into the new oc config file, can I do this directly using cloverconfigurator? antuneddu
a ok , you need replace this data in oc you can use xplist to edit oc plist ( clover configurator don t work...only clover )
antuneddu
I suggest you download OCAT in the future ( easy-to-use ) to edit the oc config start gaining confidence by reading here https://github.com/5T33Z0/OC-Little-Translated/blob/main/D_Updating_OpenCore/README.md Always keep a copy of the working EFI safe
Montelli
ah ok...I have to start getting used to Opencore, before today I didn't know of its existence 😅 anyway sorry, so cloverconfigurator is now unusable because it no longer reads the oc config file... Now in the old config file (with xplist or clover configurator) I find: do I have to copy this? because I thought it should be an alphanumeric string Edited December 14, 2022 by Montelli
Montelli
...strangely I've never generated the rom in clover configurator, so now I generated it and then I entered the data you indicated to me in OC through OCAuxiliaryTools When I restarted I got this message: How come? (but I can boot the same macos) then I would like to understand, the only data I had to enter are the ones you indicated to me? and those regarding: bios version, bios release date, various chassis, firmware features, firmware mask, platform feature, Efi version, and various... Do I have to include these too? Edited December 14, 2022 by Montelli
antuneddu
You don't need chassis and all the rest are enough only those indicated before... PM me the plist
Montelli
can I try to check? and I understand a little what to do too thanks, where should I check? meanwhile OC validate doesn't give me errors: Edited December 14, 2022 by Montelli
antuneddu
could it be an error of the xplist editor in saving .. which oc validate are you using , of OCAT ? or from zip https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/releases ?
Montelli
I'm using OCAT_Mac.dmg from this: https://github.com/ic005k/OCAuxiliaryTools/releases and MLB, ROM, Systemserialnumber, SystemUUID I entered them from OCAT
antuneddu
i guessed 🙂 ... check that the OC version in the app is in line with the OC version you are using i.e. 0.8.7 ... you should have like this oc validate otherwise you have to update it then Start sync ... save

Montelli
What can I do? Can I proceed with the updates, It's better do it directly from software update? Or go straight to Monterey?
antuneddu
You can do it either via software update or do a clean install (if you have another ssd available, so evaluate) by downloading the installer from the App store or from here https://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/55/35/032-12843-A_35UCTHBNLI/z1twfbx3mhypq6g7ljtz52z6nsv0n7e4o5/InstallAssistant.pkg

Montelli
ok thanks for the replies, these days I proceed with Update All... I think I'll update gradually... But for clean install you mean a fresh install? will all programs and data on high sierra be deleted?
antuneddu
Yes, that's why I was asking if you had another ssd available so that you could evaluate the result Consider that the higher the OS, the more peripherals may no longer be compatible (such as the Asus USB) Edited December 20, 2022 by antuneddu
Montelli
so perhaps it is more correct to update progressively from software update? however I have to see if I have an ssd..I understand if I can recover it... Montelli
Ok, I have an external Samsung Portable SSD T7, can it be okay?
