HI there,

I have installed macOS bigger 11.6.7 on the i5 Computer. recently apple released 11.6.8 update which I want to install. I have disabled SIP to install the USB wireless driver. When I enable SIP bigSur Blocks the drivers. Is there any way around it

You could use the InstallAssistant:
 https://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/29/18/012-40387-A_6L2BGPAEXT/jvvolxk1xmh2vzw6sde7p2o1px2k6ycmom/InstallAssistant.pkg

Then, if need be, you can enable sip AFTER you've downloaded the package in order for it to install. Once finished you can disable SIP again.

I just want to update via the OTA method. if I try to install via the package method it will brick the system. I am using the -no_compact_check bootlag at the moment  Lenovo M93p SFF

Why? You shouldn't need it. If you'd use the proper SMBios that is. e.g. imac14,4, which is haswell, is supported under Big Sur.

Another option would be LAN.

:surprised: I suggest you read Hervé's answer again. In particular numbers 2 and 3.

@Hervé and @ricoc90

I am finally able to install the macOS Bigger 11.6.8 as you had suggested hopefully APPLE does not release the 11.6.9 pretty soon or later it would be nightmare again to download all the software and install them. Thank you for you help and guidance.

Nice!

Just to elaborate a bit more on the SMBios matter: imac14.3 is not supported by Big Sur.
It makes no sense for Apple to send out an OS update to a device that is not supposed to be running said OS in the first place thus you won't be able to receive OTA updates.

TLDR; for OTA updates you need a SMBios that is supported by the OS, e.g. imac14,4. Otherwise you will need to download the full installer instead.

@Herve,

Well I am saying before the installation of MacOS BigSur , macOS Monetrey was already bricked so that is out of the question. and Yes I am pretty clear now everything is stable at the moment. with Quad OS from Mojave to Monterey 12.4 final.

Getting Update Notifications is not only related to that AppleInternal Flag BUT also to the SMBIOS. If it's one for a T2 model, then SecureBootModel has to be enabled as well in order to get update notifications.

BUT:  There are cases where you have to disable SIP (EF0F0000) and SecureBootModel in Monterey to boot (if you are using Kepler Patcher for example), so you won't get update notifications.

In these cases, you can utilize some Booter and Kernel Patches from OCLP to spoof a special VMM Board ID to workaround the issus. This enables downloading and installing updates: https://github.com/5T33Z0/OC-Little-Translated/tree/main/09_Board-ID_VMM-Spoof

Did you take into account that OCLP is not working in 12.5? So why he said:

 I don't have to, since these Booter and Kernel Patches are not the issue. They still work (even in Ventura)).

@$tealth

The actual issue is that injecting NVIDIA Drivers doesn't work past 12.4, since they changed something macOS 12.5. That's the case when using OCLP as well GeForce Kepler Patcher.

In other words: you want to use a GeForce Kepler Card wih macOS? STAY on 12.4! https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/issues/1004

@Sliceand @5T33Z0,

Yes I faced the issue in the Monterey 12.5 beta 2 I have read about the article. I will wait till proper way of injecting in developed. till then I will keep the macOS bigSur and macOS Catalina which are working perfectly for me as real Macs.
