FabianZettl
Hey everyone The latest version of Catalina has been running fairly stable on my HP Z800 for over a year. For this I use Clover and a MacPro5,1 SMBIOS. Kext are always up to date. Now I want to get Big Sur (Clean if necessary) running on the same device. However, I run into a few problems here. I looked for the EFI folder together at the time, so I'm assuming that it could be made cleaner and some drivers or Kext are certainly unnecessary. I noticed that ACPI has a few fixes, and I don't know which ones are necessary here either. But that's how the system works. When starting BigSur Install (clean pulled / created by gibmacos and createinstallmedia) and -no_compat_check, the part hangs up and shows me the message from the attachment. Unfortunately I can't do anything with it. With MacPro6,1 SMBIOS nothing starts at all. I can now get the Z800 started with iMac15.1 SMBIOS. I had a DSDT created in Windows. Because a Google search showed that I should patch something there? OpenCore Boots my working Catalina installation (with Clover installed), but the mouse and keyboard don't work.Drivers for USB mouse and keyboard are included, also USBInjectAll, I also tried to map my USP ports, all without success. The BigSur installation does not even start, here I am stuck at the very beginning: [EB | #LOG: EXITBS: START] I would say that I know my way around quite well by now and can do a lot myself, so throw yourself around with technical terms: D Would be grateful if you could help me. Here again my system more precisely: HP Z800, BIOS 3.61 48GB 1600Mhz RAM RX 570 8GB via display port Sandisk Cruzer USB stick with 16GB Edited January 30, 2021 by FabianZettl
FabianZettl
Thanks Rocky, I tried this before but it did not work. Should I install High Sierra and updtae from there to Big Sur or go directly to Big Sur?# Do I need to add my own DSDT and something else I forgot? With OpenCore and a BigSur Install Stick i am stuck here. FabianZettl
Thank you for the help Rocky. So I've put the OC EFI on my USB with the BigSur Installer and trief the following. Install BigSUr Update within my Catalina (booted with Clover) - boot the USB with OC into the installer partition - it goes black. Retsarts an only boots my Clover HDD. Log file still reads: 68:363 00:099 AAPL: #[EB|LOG:DT] 2021-01-31T16:53:47 68:462 00:099 AAPL: #[EB|LOG:EXITBS:START] 2021-01-31T16:53:47 68:561 00:098 AmiShimTimerBoostExit changed current period to 100000 I also tried booting from OC USB directly into the USB Installer, but get the same results. Booting from OC USB to my existing Catalina Installation works, but no USB Keyboard and MOuse is working from any USB Port.
FabianZettl
Great help thank you! But still the same problems, no mouse and keyboard in Catalina. BIOS is correct, Clover boots my Catalina without any problems. There's no way to get BigSur on Z800 with Clover working, is there?

FabianZettl
I can do that, I have a lot of external HDDs or SATA Drives, and VMware Fusion runs too. I also have Windows running on another drive inside the Z800 if it helps. Is there a written guide? FabianZettl
Thanks I will try that immediatly, just one question. The part about adding stuff to config.plist is opencore specific, where do I add this in clover? - Add following items do config.plist: NVRAM -> Add -> 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -> boot-args -> -lilubetaall (append) NVRAM -> Add -> 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -> booter-fileset-basesystem + Data + <00> NVRAM -> Add -> 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -> booter-fileset-kernel + Data + <00> NVRAM -> Delete -> 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -> booter-fileset-basesystem NVRAM -> Delete -> 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -> booter-fileset-kernel Edited January 31, 2021 by FabianZettl

FabianZettl
Thanks. I've got USB-Ports.kext, SSD-EC-USBX and -UIAC from Hackintool. Where do I create SSDT-1?
FabianZettl
Thanks, so my EFI now looks like this. Clover is 5129 the error from my previous post/Screenshot is resolved but now it goes black and just restarts after choosing the bigsur hdd. The VoodooTSCSync is very old I try updating it... I've also uploaded the new EFI I am using now. With all aml files in it. Maybe the bootlog file i've attached can help too. sok5
I have the same specs as your computer. I tried installing Big sur several time. It shut down at 75-80%. After that I got boot loop. EFI 2.zip Edited February 1, 2021 by sok5
FabianZettl
Still can't get it to work. I've tried generating a SSDT-1 with Info given in the other Thread. Added: gUserDefinedCPUList=( X5690,130,1600,3460,3730,6,12,4,133 But it tells me it's an Unkn own Processor Model. I've replaced VoodooTSCsync with CPUTscSync.
