I can't be held responsible for the faults and errors of those who follow (or choose not to follow) my advise or instructions. You are on your own if you proceed. This was created with the assumption that anyone following it would be using the SAME machine model and hardware setup as mine, a HP ENVY 17t-j000 Quad. Using any other model or hardware configuration may work but is completely unsupported! This was never intended to be used as an installation guide and shouldn't be referenced as one. It is merely a place to list my testing results. Consider this your one and ONLY warning. Continue at your OWN RISK... NOTICE: I will always be very proud of the work that was put into the making of these files not just by me but through the amazingly generous and wonderful people in this community. During my absence, that same community even took over and provided others with the assistance to keep up-to-date with the newer flavors of OS X. All of that hard work, time and effort will remain here on the first page for as long as possible for both reference and historical purposes. For reference, I supported and maintained packages for 10.8.x Mountain Lion, 10.9.x Mavericks and 10.10.x Yosemite (briefly). Andrw0380 has generously been providing more updated support packages for this thread for quite some time now. If you are to use any of the files listed below, I would recommend his as they are typically more recent and better tested. Be sure to check over his posts for further details and usage instructions and don't forget to say THANKS for his time and effort. The good news is it has recently been brought to my attention that RehabMan has been hard at work and has created a much better, more reliable method for both current and possibly future OS X installs. His new method, named the "hotpatch" method is far superior to our old ones and should rightfully take its place. I leave you with a direct link to his detailed and extensive guide to assist both current and future users with their adventures in OS X. Should you find success using his method, please remember to say THANKS for his work and to possibly add to his growing repository to hopefully assist future users in their own success stories. REMINDER: An unbelievable amount of hard work, dedication and enormous amounts of time have gone into the making, testing and maintaining of the content for this post, this thread and the entire forum as a whole. Please do try to remember that SOMEONE has to make all this happen. Be sure to THANK those who deserve it. A little appreciation goes a long way. CONCLUSION: Lastly, I am rarely active anymore and would just like to say thank you to all those who stepped up and not only took my place during my absence but also improved upon what I started so many years ago now. I truly can't believe how long this thread has survived and it is awe-inspiring to see how much further it has moved along since I last visited it. You are all just amazing and wonderful people for doing what you do. You all know who you are. Keep doing what you do and thank you again for everything that you've already done and for everything that you will hopefully continue to do in the future.
  2. ****************************************************************************************************************************** IF YOU WANT A RAW COPY (THAT INCLUDES ACTUAL FORMATTING) OF THIS UNFINISHED GUIDE, ASK ME THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGE, THEN MODIFY IT AND SEND IT BACK TO ME THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGE, IT'LL BE A PLEASURE TO UPDATE IT, BUT I'M NOT ACTIVE HERE ANYMORE -- ALSO, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO HAVE THIS THREAD'S OWNERSHIP CHANGED AND WANT TO OWN IT, LET ME KNOW HOW TO PROCEED AS I DO NOT WISH TO KEEP IT FOR ME, THANKS! ****************************************************************************************************************************** Hi, I'm starting this new topic in the hope to, progessively, create a guide for a vanilla (as much as possible) OS X Installation on Z400/Z600/Z800 Workstations. I invite you to participate in the comments so that this topic becomes an easy-to-follow guide. The idea of doing this emerged from information exchanged with other members (proteinshake, MacPeet, zhangtemplar, MacUser2525, nitelava & apav) in topic titled "Fix my HP! Just a few random DSDT-edits to improve your HacMac experience." originally created by proteinshake. Main goals of this guide Explain manual procedures; Avoid "magical" utilities, but don't ignore them (they can sometimes be time/life savers); Make you become independent & aware of the inner mechanics of creating a functional Hackintosh, so that you can repeat & adapt those procedures for future hackintosh projects. *** AS THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS TOPIC, I WILL NEED SOME HELP TO GATHER ACCURATE INFORMATION *** HELP NEEDED, PLEASE READ THIS SECTION, THANKS! As I only own a Z400 Workstation, I'd need you (those who own Z600 and Z800 Workstations) to send me your lspci output. To do so, you have 2 options: Boot with a Linux LiveCD (see the Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links section at the bottom of this post); If you already have an OSX version installed, you'll need to install lspci (see the Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links section at the bottom of this post). Type the following command : lspci -nnvv >~/Desktop/lspci-nnvv_output.txt If you are using Linux, please also type this command (before creating the following, make sure you updated your BIOS to v03.57) : sudo cat /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT >~/Desktop/DSDT.aml OR: sudo cat /proc/acpi/dsdt >~/Desktop/DSDT.aml (whichever works for you) Copy those files to a USB flash drive, send them to yourself by email or whatever other method you want. Then, reply to this topic mentionning which workstation you have, and attach the file(s) created above. ALSO, if you got Clover to boot your Z400 / Z600 / Z800 Worktation, PLEASE send us your config.plist so that we can have a starting point. I'm trying to switch from Chameleon to Clover, but I'm still unable to fix a Kernel Panic I have; I will report it with a screenshot soon in the comments, maybe some of you might know why I get it. Requirements Another Mac or Hackintosh machine; 8GB+ USB flash drive; BIOS updated to latest version (v03.57, 2013-09-20 release, found HERE); This is mandatory for 2 reasons : patched DSDT files included in this guide will not work (properly) if you use a different BIOS version; that latest BIOS version fixes possible erratic behaviours with Xeon 3600 & 5600 CPU series. Z400/Z600/Z800 specific files (see Z400/Z600/Z800 specific information sections further below). BIOS setup instructions (eventually, there will be screenshots) You must set your hard drive controller to AHCI+RAID mode, else you won't be able to use your SATA devices. ... Generic instructions (for all downloads/credits, see Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links & All attached files sections at the bottom of this post) Get a copy of Yosemite Installer from the AppStore; Create a Yosemite boot DVD or USB (USB recommended); Partition & format the USB Flash Drive : Put your USB Flash Drive in a USB port; Open Disk Utility; Select your USB Flash Drive disk in the left pane; Click on the "Partition" tab in the right pane; Change "Partition Scheme" to 1; Click on "Options" at the bottom; Make sur you select GUID (first one) and click on OK; Give it a name, let's say Yosemite-Installer for the sake of this guide; Change "Format" to "Extended Mac OS (journaled)" (AFTER THIS STEP, YOU'LL ERASE YOUR USB Flash Drive, so make a backup first if you have important data on it!); Click on "Apply"; Create a USB Flash Drive with Yosemite Installer on it; Open Terminal; Copy/Paste the following command (make sure to verify the path names as they might differ slightly on your setup) - it will ask for your user password to elevate the command at root permission level : sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/YosemiteInstaller --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --nointeraction Wait until it's completed (takes about 20 minutes, depending on your setup and USB speed); Into your volume's /System/Library/Extensions folder, copy the following kernel extensions (kext) : AHCIPortInjector_v1.0.0_Micky1979.kext.zip & IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector_v1.0.0_Micky1979.kext.zip - Those extensions make OS X detect your SATA controller. You'll get the "Waiting for root device..." message if you don't install those. (Couldn't yet find official page nor original thread for those, please let me know if you found it - credits seem to go to Micky1979); FakeSMC_v6.16.1372_netkas.kext.zip - emulates Apple's SMC chip found on Apple motherboards; NullCPUPowerManagement_v1.0.0d2_tgwbd.kext.zip - prevents kernel panic of genuine Apple Power Management; (optional for the install disk, this is to get sound working) VoodooHDA_v2.87.kext.zip (autumnrain, slice2009) - The file attached here is version 2.87 with a tweaked Info.plist to fix noise & volume issues for our workstations. According to my tests, HDADisabler kext is not needed (probably because original unpatched AppleHDA won't detect our Realtek ALC262 chipset). Now, let's rebuild that target volume's kernel cache with the following command : kextcache -f -update-volume /Volumes/YosemiteInstall Create the Extra folder on your Yosemite's install disk : mkdir -p /Volumes/YosemiteInstaller/Extra Install a bootloader Chameleon ... Known problems Unable to find a working AppleHDA patch for Realtek ALC262 (sound is working using VoodooHDA with tweaked Info.plist, see Generic instructions section above); USB Mass Storage devices are ejected upon wake (PLEASE let us know if you know who to fix this!); Impossible to boot without -f flag in Chameleon, unless ALL kexts are in /System/Library/Extensions (which is not really a problem); ... 3. I have a HP 840 G3 that was donated to me to Hackintosh, currently running High Sierra 10.13.6. This should work for the 840 G2 and you may even have more luck with the 840 G1 with the WiFi that PCIe. My method to install OS X on the SSD from a working real Mac via SSD to USB converter. I then install Clover and add my kexts ad set the config.plist Not working SD Card reader Working Video - screen looks better in OS X then it does in Windows 10 VGA port WiFi and BlueTooth working OOO using the below hack Battery status with Rehabman's DSDT patch Brightness controls Sounds - using VoodooHDA Microphone - cannot turn it off or mute Keyboard backlight - controlled though BIOS anyways touchpad - using VoodooPS2Controller USB3 - this laptop has two on board only and I haven't test them using the docking station USB3.1 C Ethernet - using IntelMausiEthernet Sleep - kind of, closing the lid doesn't go to sleep but goes to sleep over time. Not tested This laptop does not have a Webcam - enterprise model. Display port Finger Print device For me what keeps this from being a day to day usable laptop (Mac Book) is the WiFi + Bluetooth, not having battery percentage could be an issue later though. Clover_folder for those that want to play along. HP_840_G3_Clover.zip

With the USB plugged in to the computer, use 'diskutil list': In Terminal: diskutil list In my case, output: /dev/disk0 (internal, physical): #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *1.0 TB disk0 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_CoreStorage MacOS 500.4 GB disk0s2 3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s5 4: Microsoft Basic Data DATA 498.8 GB disk0s4 /dev/disk1 (external, physical): #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: Pendrive *8.0 GB disk1 As you can see my pendrive is available at /dev/disk1 (check yours). Now we are going to create partitions, In Terminal: diskutil partitionDisk /dev/disk1 1 GPT HFS+J "install_macos" R Output: Started partitioning on disk1 Unmounting disk Creating the partition map Waiting for the disks to reappear Formatting disk1s2 as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with name install_osx Initialized /dev/rdisk1s2 as a 7 GB case-insensitive HFS Plus volume with a 8192k journal Mounting disk Finished partitioning on disk1 /dev/disk1 (external, physical): #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *8.0 GB disk1 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1 2: Apple_HFS install_macos 7.7 GB disk1s2 Now as you can see partitions are created and your pendrive is ready to install clover. Download the Clover installer. Current builds are available on sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) After Downloading the Clover installer, Install it to the Target "install_macos" partition using "Change Install Location". Select "Customize". Check "Install for UEFI booting only", "Install Clover in the ESP" will automatically selected. Check "BGM" from Themes. Check "AptioMemoryFix.efi", "EmuVariableUefi-64.efi", "OsxFatBinaryDrv-64.efi" from Drivers64UEFI. After making your selections, Click "Install". Finally, one more EFI driver is needed, HFSPlus.efi: Download from : https://github.com/JrCs/CloverGrowerPro/raw/master/Files/HFSPlus/X64/HFSPlus.efi. Copy to /EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI. Kext Setup Remove all folders from EFI/CLOVER/kexts/ except 'Other'. 6. I have an HP Elitebook 8460P running OSx 10.13.4 High Sierra I have an odd issue i believe is related to DSDT patch for ACPI Power battery. My battery icon works the battery level goes up/down and battery goes black when charging/white when not. BUT... Always has a lightning bolt in it and says "Power Source: Power Adapter" no matter if its connected or not. How can i get it to recognize my adapter is unplugged?

    MSI GV62 7RD

10. Hello, I will explain how i have installed Os X EL Capitan 10.11 on HP ElibteBook 820 G2. Before start this installation, or buy this computer, you have to know that it's hard to find a compatible wifi/BT module. This guide still not 100% perfect. This allow to install: - El Capitan Public Beta 1 (10.11.0) - El Capitan Public Beta 2 and above (10.11.0) Yosemite 10.10.x doesn't support Broadwell processor and so can't be installed. Working: - Wifi and Bluetooth doesn't work, you have to find a compatible wifi/bt card with NGFF M2 slot. this one is compatible: Dell DW1560 part code: 6xRYC - SD card reader. - Display port on the dock station Needed materials: - a mac or hackintosh - usb drive - external hard drive (if you do fusion on post-install) Other solution: You can use HP Probook Installer Clover Edition 6.4 or up to install El Capitan. It doesn't add anything more than working with my guide. It will define you mac as a MacBookAir7,2. 1/Create Bootable USB Installer 2/ Configurer le Bios 3/ Installer le système Mac sur le disque dur 4/ post installation 5/ DSDT 6/ SSDT. 7/ Fusion drive 8/ ENJOY !! 9/ Ressources and thanks All greatings to Rehabman

  13. Hello Below I attach two pictures to show you what I did iPad , which show what the site is setup with stick and Mac OSX Mavericks (created in Myhack ) - installation on a laptop HP dv9880ew . Error , the problem appears when I start the Installer mavericks . I do not know what does that mean? ? , Touch pad mouse works , but here I think the point is that the keyboard does not work , why not let me on so that I could install the system without a keyboard because it is impossible , strapped my usb keyboard but also does not work. I used extra kext for the keyboard but still nothing . Interestingly, the distribution of OSX and CDs also stands in this place and shows the same screen . For now I do not know how to solve , but I guess with this is related to the termination of laptopowym , because a desktop pc never seen ( with them I have quite a few years of experience ) . Please help with a very far nothing comes to mind , but that may be a problem with the keyboard ( it does not operate) . In addition, I attach a file with detailed specifications of the HP laptop dv9880ew ( generated by the program AIDA64 ) , if you know what kexty , modifications , etc. to use for this laptop to install Mac OSX, please write in the comments. Regards thank you in advance for your help. Regards thank you in advance for your help. AIDA64-raport (HP Pavivlion dv9880ew).htm
  14. Hackintosh Spectre XT 15t-400 Touchsmart Sierra For complete info go to my repo https://github.com/joaquinperaza/Hackintosh-HP-SpectreXT-15t-4000 This i just a future discussion post. I want to contribute as thank of all your help. I made this repo to collect all related info about this laptop. I am not using other dsdt or ssdt patches than clover ones, but I am open to your contributions. Where to start: Have a Mac? So prepare a USB using your preferred method, you can choose: Clover (Base guide Dont have a mac? Dont worry you can use a virtual box machine in your HP: To set up the vm use: http://www.wikigain.com/install-macos-sierra-10-12-virtualbox/ I discovered and posted how to run usb intaller in VirtualBox VM using Linux/Windows host:https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/5zks4c/create_sierra_bootable_usb_from_virtualbox/ I followed this guide that was the most similar to this model: https://www.google.com.uy/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiT2KW8v9HTAhWGIJAKHRtkAZIQFgggMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2Fhackintosh%2Fcomments%2F5pwtdd%2Fhp_spectre_xt_pro_13b000_running_macos_sierra%2F&usg=AFQjCNEXuPraFVEtqD7am308-wVd7ssCZQ So I did it with UxxxBxxx, with this options: UEFI Mode and Inject Intel USB installer tunning: After completing the UxxBxxx installation donwload clover configurator and add the settings that appear in cloverconfIMG folder. PD:You should also select -v (verbose) flag in boot section in first tests. PD:Ignore ket patches for the moment Copy the drivers inside the drivers64UEFI folder to your EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI folder. Copy the kexts from the kext folder to your EFI/CLOVER/kexts EXCLUDE VoodooHDA inside kext/10.12 folder. Sierra install: Now you're ready to run Sierra installer (if you are lucky the only issue you would have is no mouse and keyboard during install). Follow normal instructions for install OSX. Key points: Disable Secure boot in bios and disable legacy, enable cpu virtualization Boot vith -v flags in first tests. Post installation: Install those 'post install kext' with EasyKext Pro: VoodooPS2Controller.kext (Enable mouse and keyboard) USBInjectAll.kext (enable touchscreen and webcam) Dont install the optionals fixes yet. Reagarding audio i have tested to solution: Apply AppleHDA patched kext (Inside other files folder) //No microphone Use VoodooHDA installer and add the VoodooHDA inside kext/10.12 folder to clover. VoodooHDA provide microphone and beats audio but less quality and no volume. Hdmi fix: The plattform 0x01660004 dont have connectors, but is the onlyone compatible with our screen, so I patched the HEX table for you to make our screen compatible with 0x01660008 wich natively support our HDMI port. Just delete AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext from your System/Library/Estensions folder and immediately install the one inside kext folder/optional fixes with EasyKext Pro Then add this kextspatches in CloverConfigurator: | Name | Find | Replace | Plist checked? | | ------ | ------ | ------ | ------ | | AppleIntelFramebufferCapri | 04006601 01030101 00000002 | 04006601 01020402 00000004 | NO | | AppleIntelFramebufferCapri | 05030000 02000000 30020000 00000000 01000000 40000000 00000000 01000000 40000000 00000000 01000000 40000000 00000000 00000000 | 05030000 02000000 30020000 02050000 00080000 06000000 03040000 00040000 81000000 04060000 00040000 81000000 00000000 00020011 | NO | Wifi fix: Unfortunately our Intel Centrino N wifi card is not compatible i bought an Atheros AR9285 AR5B95, just replace and add install kexts inside Atheros AR9285 AR5B95 Sierra with EasyKext. | Name | Find | Replace | Plist checked? | | ------ | ------ | ------ | ------ | | AirPortAtheros40 | pci168c,30 | pci168c,2b | YES | Author Disclaimer: The majority of the software is public on the internet, I only have patched some files and wrote this guide, I am not responsible of any possible damage to your PC, do it at your own risk despite I consider it worth it. HP DV6 2150us install help

Hello- So I have been trying dilligently for days to get OSX Yosemite installed on my HP Pavillion dv6 2150us laptop. I have tried all kinds of different flags and bios settings and in verbose i get all the way to a point where that screen looks like it changes to a GUI but it is garbled lines that i cant make anything of. I am looking for pretty much a walkthrough on how to get this working. I am using a legitimate copy of OSX Yosemite from my wifes MacBook Air but I would like to install El Capitan (which I can get from her MacBook when I update it). What would be the best bootloader for my install? Kexts? really any and all help would be appreciated. Attached are hardware and system info screenshots. Thank you all so much in advance. Its my first post but I have been lurking the forums for weeks getting tons of information from other's posts but I just haven't been able to get it right yet.

  17. Hi to all This is my first time to attempt a DSDT patch but even if I read some guides using MaciASL I still don't know how to proceed. Before using Yosemite, I used VoodooBattery on Mavericks, but this solution is not working anymore. So I'm asking for some help in order to get battery management status. Also, for webcam (HP Truevision HD) that never worked even on Mavericks. Any help will be appreciated Thanks a lot

    Webcam HP

Hi, I recently installed Mac OS X 10.7.2 Lion on my notebook HP ENVY dv6-7320el. I was wondering if there was an "universal" driver pack for the webcam. I have a built-in webcam (HP Truevision HD) and I can't find the drivers anywhere. Also, I don't know where to search the drivers for my GPU (nVidia GeForce GT 635M); without them the UI is a bit laggy. I tried to use the search function but I didn't find something remarkable. Any help will be appreciated, thank you so much

    Boot/Shutdown problem

Hello everyone, This is two days I am facing a problem I can not solve . It makes me completely crazy, that's why I implore you for your help. I have a desktop computer that I use for hackintoshing since 2008, I went through all versions of OS X Leopard and since I never had any worries. After all installed (5 or 6 times) , I 've realized that when I turn off the pc I (  > shutdown ) , thereafter it is impossible to restart OS X. The screen remains frozen AFTER boot: init6 with an fixed " underscore ". The only thing is when I can do is to start on my hard drive where Vista is installed (I'll even display password ) and then restart on my hard drive or is OS X, and there is no problem starting ... For cons , I can restart (  > restart ) , sleep or wake up without any problems. I 'm reinstall , change some options, nothing works arghhhh I took screenshots of my console, my Clover configuration and kexts used below. Note: Kexts are too in S/L/E I now have to go, I'll be right on time. Thank you in advance. clover_config_1.tiff clover_config_2.tiff clover_config_3.tiff clover_config_4.tiff clover_config_5.tiff console_log_1.tiff console_log_2.tiff console_log_3.tiff console_log_4.tiff console_log_5.tiff console_log_6.tiff console_log_7.tiff kexts_efi_sle_part.tiff

  22. Hello! I'm new to the conecpt of Hackintosh and trying to perform my first installation on my HP EliteBook Revolve 810. I'm running in to problems right at the beginning of booting the installation. My touchscreen laptop has the following specification: CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-3437U @ 1.9 GHz RAM: 8 GB 1600 MHz SODIMM HDD: 256 GB SSD m-SATA GPU: Integrated Intel HD4000 I have used the following guide http://www.tonymacx8...l-based-pc.html (##### & #####). I have also tried different boot flags such as, -x GraphicsEnabler=No, -x GraphicsEnabler=Yes, PCIRootUID=0, PCIRootUID=1 etc and nothing seems to work... I have also used the verbose boot mode to see what is going wrong. I attatch to images which are the last two I managed to take before the screen went black. What is the error for SMC meaning? /Philip

Verbose output says something like "Version of IOUSBFamily version requested by GenericUSBXHCI.kext incompatible (5.0.0a1)" (sorry, this isn't verbatim, I don't have the exact output with me) I tried looking at the Info.plist for the IOUSBFamily kext, and it said version 4.4.0, while GenericUSBXHCI requested 5.0.0a1; I've been unable to find another version online? I do not have an AHCI option in my BIOS. Does anybody have any experience with my laptop? I don't mind if I can't use Mavericks, any OSX version will be plenty for me. Sincerest thanks from one very confused noob, yubo56 P.S. I'm a student still, and while I will try my best to test all suggestions promptly schoolwork does come first, so apologies in advance if I don't check up in a while!

  25. Hello everyone. So, im kinda new to this whole hackinstosh, but, i have some experience i know at least the basics. Big picture. Tried to install mac, stucks at "System uptime in nanosecods: xxxx", some panic error "Local APIC Error". If you want me to take a pic, sure, but i think that is enough considering what i have searched. I've tried to boot with some flags like "cpus=1", "nv_disabler=1", "GraphicsEnabler=NO" and some "nvda_driver". Did everything in the main tutorial with the #####... AND. I got pass that error once but surprise surprise, "Still Waiting for root device". Computer Specs: Intel Core i5 520M / 2.4 GHz 4Gb RAM NVIDIA GeForce GT 320M - 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM Is it possible? If it is, how to make it possible? Big thanks.
