Well it's here folks. macOS Big Sur on AMD. Thanks to Algrey for the base patches and NoOne for the Big Sur updates. Absolutely no support will be given for this for the time being as it's the very first beta and is understandably buggy and unstable.

Experimental patches for 17h CPUs can be found here, https://github.com/AMD-OSX/AMD_Vanilla/tree/experimental-opencore

Note that there's no way to boot the installer using these patches. A VM must be used to install. You'll have to work it out by  your self.

From my testing everything is working as it should currently. I've got all iServices working including iMessage. Sleep works without modification etc.

BigPurge beta 3 :thumbsup_anim:

1607772953_Schermata2020-07-23alle18_19_

OC 060 & kexts compiled today

performed installation with the minimum union of kexts

LILU, WEG, VirtualSMC, RTL8111

The thing that made me waste my time was the not having used the boot-arg right away

vsmcgen-1

and the RTL8111 that even if I disabled it, however BS saw it, interfered and looped;  instead using the 230d10 version compiled at the moment, it's all spun then smooth

4 reboots and it wasn't even as long as installation on SSD

apart from the Preboot instead of the name given to the disc, which you see in the GUI at the boot, finally you start to see something interesting... fluid and responsive system right away, graphics finally defined and not that obfusca of the first two betas

@Shaneee

I have to be nice to bigsur beta3... today at the first restart, without doing anything that in the settings, only installed xcode and made a ride to OC EFI maker of the Gengik84, as I said, on the restart, in the GUI instead of preboot put me alone the name I had assigned to the disk

we'll have a macOS that does a little bit of that caxxo that he likes or what??? :hysterical:

o macaque people! hear you hear! Habemus Clover!!!! :gathering:

today for the first time ever, on the T-RyZo with Clover 5121 - OcQuirks and OpenRuntime all release nightly, before I came out of the +++++++++++++++ at boot....

what never happened :drool:

and on the second attempt, after having a moment set the config, I even got to desktop on High Sierra

https://www.macos86.it/topic/1948-t-ryzo-3950x-msi-unify-arez56-hs-mojave-catalina-bigsur/?do=findComment&comment=81216

bootlog.txt.zip

for those who want to start trying their hand and maybe improve and evolve what they have done, here is the EFI

EFI_CLOVER_X570_MSI_UNIFY.zip

PS: final report with this EFI

high sierra --> OK

mojave --> black screen and reboot

  catalina--> OK

big sur --> hangs at boot

Can you share your working OpenCore config.plist for Big Sur beta 4 in your Ryzen hackintosh ?

Is there any change from Big Sur beta 3 to beta 4 in your OC's config.plist ?

In my FX-6300 hackintosh previous working config.plist for Big Sur beta 3 not working at beta 4 now.

 your OC's config.plist

@iCanaro Also updated just fine :thumbsup_anim: You can change the boot name with this, https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/344428-pre-release-macos-big-sur/?do=findComment&comment=2731516

Thanks which provide me the correct way to edit my config.plist in FX-6300 hackintosh.

Now it can boot to desktop without major issues except CMOS reset after wake-up from S3 sleep.

In previous Big Sur beta no such an issue with OpenCore 0.6.0.

In Clover no such an issue at Big Sur beta 3 too.

Try your config.plist, but also I have Error on boot,

Boot in Catalina and Big Sur Beta 3 without any Error,

You use any NVMeFix.kext?

Can share EFI Folder?

Thanks

Although it was said that NvmExpressDxe.efi has been merged in OpenRuntime.efi, my experience showed that in those MB without NVME natively supported such as Z87 or Z77 I still need add NvmExpressDxe.efi in Drivers & config.plist.

So please try it to see any difference !

@jsl2000 I made no changes to my EFI. Only built OC and kexts from source.

In order to boot to desktop at Big Sur beta 4 I need add newer RealtekRTL8111.kext (v.2.3.0d10) to Kexts and edit config.plist.

I've been using that version for a while now. I keep Lilu and it's plugins updated as much as I can and test new builds of OC on a USB first to ensure it won't break boot on AMD.

My OC Version - 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102:opencore-version REL-061-2020-08-11

Big Sur is now my daily. Sleep works along with iServices and everything that I use. Latest PS with same fixes still works.

Can you wake up properly from S3 sleep without black screen issue ?

My Ryzen 1700X hackintosh still had this issue at Catalina and Big Sur with AMD 7970 or 7950 GPU.

But FX-6300 hackintosh with RX-560 GPU had no such an issue except need wake-failure fix method to prevent CMOS Reset after reboot.
