Really frustrating issue with sleep since Catalina on my HP 800G1

This was all working fine on Mojave.

Wondering if it is because I upgraded in situ (after updating clover and kexts)?

I’ve tried

  • toggling FixRTC etc and bootflags
  • darkwake=8 , 10 , 0 , no 2
  • USBports are mapped and showing under the port limit
  • I’ve checked NVRAM is working and I have also tried putting the Darkwake flags directly in NVRAM Using “sudo nvram boot-args="darkwake=8”. It stays persistent following reboot
  • I remove the flag (either from clover bootargs or NVRAM), wake on lan only ever wakes the machine to Darkwake state (I use wake on lan so don’t wan’t to disable)
  • Also manually updated mDNSresponder.plist with -disablesleepproxy

The machine will stay asleep overnight once then on second night goes back to waking every few minutes for 45secs

I've googled pretty much everything I can think of..

Next I might try a fresh install / roll back - but I don't like admitting defeat!

Any other ideas?

Attached current config.plist and EFI (had to remove something.scap from EFI/apple/firmware to get below size limit

see here - I tried a few things including clean install - and found some others with the same issue - it seems to be a Catalina issue /bug not hackintosh related - I have resorted to scheduled reboot once a day for the time being.

Thanks, let's wait for 10.15.2

Some good info in there thanks @holyfield I was trying anything at that stage at nothing was working ! 15.2 fixed it though!

Thank you for response @mitch1!

Anyway, my question was, why did you use for darkwake 8  and 10. Those are obsolete since Yosemite! Are you familiar for what Darkwake boot args are at all?

As I said - just trying anything I found suggested in a variety of other posts across lots of forums. I did find a post on the ‘other forum - Darkwake deciphered’ which mentioned the same about 8 and 10 no longer being active.

My understanding is limited - just that setting a flag (although I forget what number)  had fixed an issue with random darkwakes every 2hrs on Mojave. I understand it relates to power nap and had already disabled power nap hibernate and standby in pmset.
