Discount_Mac
Hello everyone, I was able to install macOS Sierra 10.12.6 a few months ago successfully with working audio, internet, etc. But now I want to upgrade to High Sierra and am not sure whether or not it will be compatible with my system. (Tried to do it using a High Sierra USB. Wouldn't boot into installer, showed "+++++++++++++" or something.) My specs are: Dell Optiplex 3010 Intel Core i3-3240 @ 3.40GHz (HD2500 Integrated Graphics) 4GB of RAM NVIDIA Quadro FX1800 (Want to use this GPU, have an extra Radeon HD7470 somewhere that I can also use in this if needed) Conexant CX20641 Audio Realtek RTL8111E Ethernet So, can I upgrade to High Sierra? Please let me know. EDIT: I kept getting this error: (See attached image) Thanks -Discount_Mac Edited October 4, 2018 by Discount_Mac
Display Name Required
Hello @Discount_Mac, I cannot answer your question, but I have the same Optiplex 3010 with the same specs and I also want to install Sierra or El Capitan on it. Could you please give me a detailed guide of how you did the process and which kexts you needed, etc.? Thanks!
sebus
EC definitely works on this machine (as I am using it on one) Last time I installed it, version: v2.3k r3922 EFI bootloader +++++++++++++ on boot means you missing .efi drivers Attached .plist is probably far from perfect, but it did work for me with at that time 10.11\ACPISensors.kext 10.11\AppleIntelE1000e.kext 10.11\AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext 10.11\CPUSensors.kext 10.11\FakeSMC.kext 10.11\IntelMausiEthernet.kext 10.11\RealtekRTL8111.kext 10.11\USBInjectAll.kext drivers64UEFI\AppleImageCodec-64.efi drivers64UEFI\AppleKeyAggregator-64.efi drivers64UEFI\AppleUITheme-64.efi drivers64UEFI\DataHubDxe-64.efi drivers64UEFI\EmuVariableUefi-64.efi drivers64UEFI\Fat-64.efi drivers64UEFI\FirmwareVolume-64.efi drivers64UEFI\FSInject-64.efi drivers64UEFI\HFSPlus.efi drivers64UEFI\OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi drivers64UEFI\OsxFatBinaryDrv-64.efi drivers64UEFI\SMCHelper-64.efi edit: Looking at my own reply on TM: Dell Optiplex 3010 (SFF), BIOS A16, usual settings for OS X, latest Clover, booted perfectly fine & installed OK (10.11.3) with files from Optiplex 3020 in thread in Dell Desktops forum at o_s_x_l_a_t_i_t_u_d_e (post #25), Just had to replace stock 2nd gen CPU with i3-3225 from ebay I did not get any of the problems described (all works fine, boots from HD, graphics - using nVidia 210, Ethernet) EDIT Re-installed 10.11.6, once installed removed the dsdt.aml completely (not for this hardware & in fact not needed). ALL that I tested so far works, VoodooHDA installs/works fine but had to install it THREE times, two KP, 3rd installed ok, updated to latest Security Update 2016-002 config-3010-3020.zip Edited June 16, 2019 by sebus
